    Default SD Memory Card method

    Working on nuvi 1300, HWID=972

I used SD Memory Card method

    1. Remove file from nuvi 1300
    \.System\gupdate.gcd

    2. Copy 2 files to empty SD Memory Card
    \Garmin\gupdate.gcd
    \Garmin\097201000631.rgn

    3. Restart nuvi 1300

    Notes:
    -First Charge battery fully
-After flash nuvi 1300, copy file from
    SD memory card to \.System\gupdate.gcd

    Thx lolypop000

I was in doubt, because my fw version was 6.30 and i've some updates in the .system folder beginning with a 00060952, but the devicexml file identifies it as 0006-0972 and everything is running smoothly after the update

Is there a possibility that you could apply the same 'patch' method you used in #972 to create a #971 GUPDATE.GCD file that would work with the Nuvi 1260T. The addition of the 'Routes' facility to the 1260T would be a nice addition to what is still a fully featured and top performing Nuvi model - despite being 3+ years old.
Sorry Kunix - I missed the #971 patch download included in your first post. Part of a problem in being an 'old fart'. The patch works perfectly in my 1260T. THANKS!

Thanks for the screenshots tp2168, i added the files from your zippyshare link to display in your post.

BTW, the rgn file will be ignored in the SD Garmin folder, only the file gupdate.gcd is copied to the unit's .System folder then used to update the device on next boot cycle.

Actually, imho the safest way is to drag 097201000631.rgn onto [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], put the unit into [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and flash that way. Saves the 'ever-so-slight' chance of bricking using gupdate.gcd.

You're right as always Loly. Additionally, there's a new icon in 'Where To?' menu, as shown in first pic in tp2168's post above. In 'My Data' this is the standard menu in 13xx:

After routes mod, you have this same as 1450/1490:

Does the "route capability" allow .gpi with routes to work? In another word, are there products for units with route capability in .gpi format for users to use?

I've ported the patch to Nuvi 1300 hwid 1104 swver 6.30 (MTK chipset). Flashed it with updater.exe and Routes option showed up Thank you kunix!

    Credits to kunix for sharing.

P.S. On this unit I got GIR MISMATCH VERSION error when I changed 3 places for version 6.31. So reverted to 6.30 and all is well.

    Thanks flagmax, appreciated.

Would we be forward in asking you and/or kunix how the patch is applied? I'd like to have a go at patching 12x0 MTK 1106 fw. I know at least one other member would too.
