G'day arnon, welcome to GPSPower [New Yorkers are corkers ].

You mean the last sentance in this post by Caty?:

Having Garmin Webupdater on pc desktop, drag&drop in it [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] flash firmware.
If so, it means you can simply drag & drop the firmware file onto the WebUpdater icon on your desktop, or if you like, you can drag it onto WebUpdater.exe in C:\Garmin\WebUpdater\Program Files [or Program Files (x86) if you have 64 bit OS]. You must first have the device connected in MSM and change the XML file as said above and don't disconnect before flashing via WU. The file will be transferred to the unit's .System folder as GUPDATE.GCD and the unit will then downgrade the fw on the next reboot.

Thank you Neil for the clear instructions - will do it over the weekend.

Last question - what do you refer to by "MSM"?

Thanks Neil - I followed your instructions post #2 to the letter and managed to downgraded the FW from 4.30 to 3.20 without any problem. I have a Nuvi 65LM. It now recognizes my unlocked North America maps

    Hi,

Got it, but even after setting the device to mass storage & installing Garmin's USB driver package the WU does not see the unit in USB mode

    Any suggestions?

Then follow the method in Post #2, surely that's why you were asking for latest Updater.exe anyway [although it's not usual that your unit isn't seen in Windows by WebUpdater whether it's set to MTP or MSM].
