    Default GPSMAP 545S older firmware

    Hello,

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 545S. I need to try and reflash the firmware to fix an issue -

Question - Can I flash an older firmware? Anyone every do this? I learned from Garmin to Hold the UP arrow and power ON and that has to load firmware from a file.

I can't find any old firmware files for this unit. Seems to be the same for the following units:

    GPSMAP 420/420s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 430/430s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 430x/430sx: 5.60
    GPSMAP 440/440s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 440x/440sx: 5.60
    GPSMAP 450/450s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 520/520s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 530/530s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 540/540s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 550/550s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 525/525s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 535/535s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 545/545s: 5.60
    GPSMAP 555/555s: 5.60

5.60 is the latest, so anything prior to that would be worth a shot, assuming it can flash older firmware.

Any help would be great! Also any other tips would be useful. Absolutely nothing wrong with the unit, just can't clear the "Weather Service Lost" message to make it usable. Even when through Test / Diagnostic mode and everything passed fine... Gotta be a software bug, but Garmin doesn't fix them anymore

    Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I was able to flash an older firmware, but that did not fix the problem. Seems to be a hw issue. Thanks!
