    @lau31
    Thanks for the info. I get a '404 not found' error on the firmware link from the geoplanet page, maybe the modded firmware has been pulled or a sign-in is needed to access the dl page?

    But you can read what 680Astro320_340.rgn is the same as 3.40 SW version. Only SW number was changed to prevent update with GCD from 3.40 to 6.80 version.

    This company have modified SW for new version with support for T5 and TT15. There is a possibility to change region frequency too. But!

    Thanks! I love Russia! So this is an official Garmin reseller who has a cr@cked fw for sale to overcome [illegally] the imposed US freq lock-out and are loading cr@cked fw to their stock of US Astro 320 and Alpha 100 to use TT collars. I thought i was cheeky. What a joke if that's correct ... I'm gonna move over there! Got a spare room Giomen?

    In Russia is not Garmin office. So all reseller are official and even I
    Except that Navicom consider itself as official reseller. But this company may cr@cked not Russia official map too - the Christmas present may be Finland map with mapset name like "Suomi Unlocked" (from CNEUNT). Moreover Navicom have got the cheapest devices on stock only. Often there are not Zumo, Astro (for now) and etc. The delivery time for marine network device is about two month after prepaid. I do not say that whole sales price is bigger than price in foreign retail shop. Navicom is owner of proprietary retail shops in big towns and this company is not interested in supplying to other shop as competitor. You may understand this situation because if it can get whole price as wholesales cost plus retail cost why it must loose about 30-40 percent of retail income. As a result everybody can find his place on Russian Garmin market. So welcome! While cat (Garmin ltd.) is sleeping the mice are dancing.

    Yes, i did understand that Garmin itself doesn't have a company branch office in RU and Navicom is the closest to the 'official' office there. I can now also understand why they [Navicom] don't take some direct action if they're into a bit of 'out of area' cr@cking on the side themselves. Be the pot calling the kettle black .... still, there are other ways one would think, but who cares. Not I. Thanks for the explanation though.
    One thought, if geo-planet can do the Astro fw mod, so can kunix i bet.

    @dimanegr
    Welcome to GPSPower.

    Have you tried progressive downgrading 4.10>4.00>3.80 etc?

    Try force update this firmware.
    It is version 3.40 with just the version number changed to 6.90 so that webupdater does not update your Astro anymore.

    I know for sure that the method of progressive downgrading that Neil adviced you works with version 4.10. A couple of Greek owners of Astro returned from 4.10 to 3.40 downgrading with the following order:

    4.10 -> 3.80 -> 3.60 -> 3.40

    Make sure that after every downgrade you do with WebUpdater you disconnect the device from PC and turn it on so it can complete the procedure. Then connect it again and proceed the same way for every firm version.
