    It would also be really nice if someone figured out how to hack the actual geolock so you didn't have to use old software

    Edit the GarminDevice.xml as described in Post #16 but with a lower version than 3.40 [i.e. make 'SoftwareVersion>380</SoftwareVersion>' read 'SoftwareVersion>330</SoftwareVersion>'] before dragging the V3.40 gcd file to WebUpdater. See this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for more detail. If that doesn't work, downgrade progressively as worked for another user downgrading from V3.70>V3.60>V3.40 as described in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    Otherwise, try one of the other methods listed in Post #15. The only file you need to remove from the unit is any existing gupdate.gcd if it's present.

    when you use the webupdater solution and you have an 3.80 firmware on your Astro 320 you have first to downgrade to the 360 firmware and then you can downgrade to the the 340 firmware but you will loose your dogs on the he astro and you will have to reconnect them

    So? At least having to re-pair the DCs with the unit gives you an [albeit illegal] working combination therefore i fail to see the problem.

    You can try to use this method if you like:

    • Remove any existing gupdate.gcd from the unit
    • Load Astro320_340.gcd into [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Press the 'RGN' button and save the firmware as 133901000340.rgn

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    • Open the rgn with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], then press the 'USB Device' radio button. Leave it open and visible on your desktop

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    • Put the unit in preboot [Hold 'UP' while powering on]. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    • When the astro's details appear in the window adjacent to 'USB Device', press 'OK' on Updater.exe and follow the prompts while keeping the unit in preboot until the process is finished.

    @Dai7
    Reading the thread, even only looking at the last several posts, will give you the solution. If you still have problems after trying one of the downgrade methods post again with full details.

    I cannot help and nor can anyone else unless you're specific about the problem. It seems that you've simply connected the unit to the computer with WebUpdater opened. But i'm guessing, so please look again at the Posts in this thread with the various methods to downgrade and try again. If you need to post again, please tell us exactly what you've tried and any problems you've had.

    I've removed your identical post you made in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Best not to double-post thanks .
