Hi I am from Greece,I have a astro 320 with version 4.40,i tried to do the steps of the post 16 but i don't understand how to do.
firstly i download and install webupdater, when i connect astro 320 with the pc via usb i find the file REMOTESW.Inside it has a file with the name 006B068900.GCD.

1.I Download the firmware file Astro320_430.gcd until Astro320_340.gcd and I copy them on your Desktop
    2. I Create a shortcut of Webupdater on your Desktop
    3. I Connect your Astro to your PC
4.My wifi connection is always on
5.Which file i should Drag and Drop on top of WebUpdater's shortcut?Should i change name before drag and drop the files?
    6. WebUpdater will start, find your Astro and copy the firmware file in the right place, with the right name.(How to do this step)?
    7. Safely Remove your Astro from the PC
    9. Turn on your Astro.

please help me to do it works

G'day levvag, welcome to GPS Power.

Firstly, which Astro do you have, an earlier unit [and using only DC40/50 not later T5/TT15] which has been upgraded to V4.40? Or the latest with V4.40 already on it when you got it?

If it's the first, then the downgrade solution using WebUpdater will work but you'll need to do it one step at a time, i.e. progressively from 4.40 > 4.30 > 4.20 > 4.10 etc until you get to V3.40. If it's the second then look here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    Dear Neil,thanks you very much.

I have the astro 320 US and i use it with DC30 and DC40.The only upgrade that i do it,is with the version 4.40.

I would like to inform you that i have already download the oldest versions but i can not understand how to do the downgrade.
Should i rename the oldest version like the name of current file that i found in the astro320 when i connect to PC?(for example 006B068900.GCD)

Below are the steps that i do:
1.I Download the firmware file Astro320_430.gcd until Astro320_340.gcd(Should i rename them?) and I copy them on your Desktop
    2. I Create a shortcut of Webupdater on your Desktop
    3. I Connect your Astro to your PC
4.My wifi connection is always on
pls send me the next steps because i can not understand.

    thanks in advance

If both your collars and Astro are older US products then the downgrade will work provided you only want to use your existing DCx0 collars and not newer T5/TT15. The link given by forla is also in the reply post by Fa_Piter in the thread I linked and it contains the combined 'modded' RGN file which needs to be flashed with Update.exe in preboot mode. The RGN file has the boot.bin from V4.40 firmware and the fw_all.bin from the modded V4.30 firmware mentioned in the other thread, you can see that with RGN_tool:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

So, to be clear, there are 2 different methods. The first is the progressive downgrade with GCD files to V3.40 which will allow you to use US Astro and only DCx0 collars in EU. The second is the RGN flash with Updater.exe in preboot which will allow you to use not only DCx0 but also the newer "T" collars.

You decide which is easier for you:
    Either
    1. If you do the progressive downgrade then no need to rename the GCD files or remove an existing GUPDATE.GCD file from the unit first and no need to use preboot. Just connect Astro in Mass Storage Mode, drag Astro320_430.gcd onto WebUpdater icon and follow the prompts. Disconnect safely when WU is finished, boot the unit which will load the lower version and then repeat the entire process all the way down to V3.40, resetting the unit before each downgrade and after the final one too.
    Or
    2. If you do use the modded RGN in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], make sure to remove any GCD file from the unit before flashing with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and reset before and after too.

For you using only DCx0 collars, either of the 2 methods will work.
