Try to replace the Text folder with this one contained in this rar, may be yours is corrupt:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

If it doesnt work, probably firmware is corrupt and to cure it you must know your nuvi HWID, because there are 2 version of 23xx series, nuLink 23xx and normal one.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Once you know the HWID use kunix's cure
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
If Express offered 3.30 it should be nuLink version, but we never know with Express
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] --> HWID 1187
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] --> HWID 1254
    Backup your files before formatting.
Follow [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
If you get calibration it's because preboot mode ended before flashing cure.
After formatting create a Garmin folder in nuvi and copy garmindevice.xml from backup (in Garmin folder) and see if it starts normally.
If yes run Express and then add missing files from backup.

Did you install Garmin USB Drivers on your computer? Alternatively, you could install Garmin Express, which automatically installs the required drivers.

You posted in the thread for bricked devices. Any reason to assume your device is bricked? If so, what are the symptoms?

You say your device starts when plugging it in to your computer. Does it start in Navigation Mode or in Mass Storage Mode? If navigation mode, try another USB cable.

I am not sure about that. When I plug in the device on the pc, it is only charging the batery, nothing else. The device is not shown on the pc.
Can you send me a link where I can find the garmin express please? Or post it here.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
to unbrick it you need cure and preboot.
You can turn off your AV while curing your etrex, soft is safe.
    Read how to enter preboot:
