Nope, it's like the battery menu, but without it, everything else functions normally.

And i agree you are the ideal one to make such a thread and not only because it will contain a lot of your discoveries. Thanks to gpscurious for suggesting it. Okay, guys, let me first sort out some serious sh*t in my life (it's going to take ~ a month, most probably). And then I will start doing something.
Also I still hope to make a region-editor-over-usb by patching boot.bin that would erase everything except some very important NV records.

Here's another Idea, call it food for thought.
When the Nvram corruption happens, instead of doing ergn41 would it not be better to restore a generic region 41 (that already knows the model number of that nuvi)
I don't have the skills to create a generic region 41 for a particular Nuvi but I know that Such skills do exist.
When I have nothing to do maybe I'll stare at the Hex Editor some more.

Another [even less skilled layman's] thought on that Dasil. The problem would still exist regarding registration and unlock keys missing from the generic rgn41. I would think that unless they are also stored elsewhere other than in 41 being unable to recreate unknown codes is a real problem for [official] map updates, particularly LM units without a GarminDevice.xml backup.

Yet there is a way to generate GarminDevice.xml with unlock code extracted from rgn41 by handicraft. But I know what only unit ID is needed for LM...

I think all these discussion about NV , regions and ID can be discussed by pms if and when needed.
We don't want to give more infos to nuvis cloning guys.
We'll wait for "lazy" kunix to prepare a thread with all the infos can be shared and it's safe to share.
Nobody better than him can do it

Hi, i deleted old maps, and 3D maps on nuvi 2460, they were old, from 2013. After it i started updating latest map and device just restarted, and it keep restarting everytime after Garmin sign, lets say about 7-8 sec after device starts. And every single time, i tryed to connect it to charger alone, PC, etc, evertyhing, but nothing works. What could be problem? I throught maybe battery is dead, but it should work when i connect it on charger, right? And i didn't deleted anything but old maps, and old 3D maps, so there shouldn't be any problem with that. I even tryed to put SD card in him with maps, and again same. Anyone had same problem?

    Probably something corrupt in nuvi.
It can happen if nuvi is not safely disconnected from pc, may be it hadn't finish to delete the maps.
    Does pc sees nuvi?

No, that is problem, it's keep rebooting before PC can even see it. I would try some update if i could connect it to PC, but i can't. It restart every time 2-3 sec after Garmin sign.
