help Completely Deleted Device Internal Memory

    Hi,

I've gone through several threads and there doesn't seem to be anyone with the exact same problem as I'm experiencing.

I am on a MAC and using the 'Disk Utility' on my Mac I wanted to wipe out the SD card memory in my Garmin nüvi 1350LMT device, instead I accidentally wiped out the devices internal memory. Now, my computer does not even recognize my device and when I turn it on it does not go past the Garmin Splash screen, and it never shuts off unless i manually turn it off or battery runs out.

I imagine that all that is needed it to reinstall the operating system/firmware as it was completely wiped out. However, because the devices memory was wiped out it is no longer being detected by my MAC or PC, I'm not sure what to do in order to make this work again.

I have already tried starting it in pre-boot mode and a hard reset and neither have worked. I know that I am doing these to actions correctly as I looked at people on YouTube doing it and followed their instructions and sadly it worked for them but not for me.

If you could please help me I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you!

    help

    Hi catymag,

Thanks for the advice. I went to the link you sent me in your reply, however, in the warning section it says that I must be able to enter "pre-boot mode", which unfortunately I am not able to.

Do you know of any other way I can resolve my issue? Might there be something that can be done to fix this via the SC card?

    Thanks

No sorry , no other options.
If you get Garmin logo you can enter preboot.
Drag the .rgn in updater.exe and check USB, at this point plug the nuvi to pc pressing and holding on left upper corner, you'll see Updater showing model and unit id of your Nuvi. This is preboot click yes at this moment.
Check Updater thread for more detailed instructions and pictures.

    turn off nuvi

drag rgn over updater.exe and window will open

add dot beside USB in updater window

    connect cable to pc

add finger in uper left corner of screen and hold it there and with other hand connect cable to nuvi

If nuvi wont turn on press button and turn on nuvi ( you still hold finger in uper left corner of screen)

when you see in updater window your nuvi model and ID quick pres button OK in updater window ( finger is still in uper left corner of screen)
