Default Help me with Nuvi 255 - lost all data

    Hi folks.
I accidentally delete all data from the internal memory of my Nuvi 255 ( it is not a W only 255 ). I had a backup. But the cd do not read anymore. He is damaged.
How do I recover the internal memory of my GPS.

    Thank you.

Ok....create the folder Garmin (if not exist, obvious) in root of your device
In this folder Garmin, create the file Garmindevice.xml

Turn on device.....turn off device.....connect it to the PC and run the Web Updater

    Test it

Do you have Garmindevice.xml inside folder Garmin?
If you have look if you have garmindevice.xml or garmindevice.tmp.
If you have garmindevice.tmp just rename it to garmindevic.xml

    p.s.
Let us know if you have something in Garmin folder.
If you have empty folder then i send you backup for this nuvi

Open the file Garmindevice.xml with text editor (also Notepad) and post the script in TAG [CODE] (delete/without your serial number, please)

Don't use garmindevice.xml from nuvi 40 becouse webupdater will download files for nuvi 40.
Please answer me if you have something in Garmin folder, if you don't have i send you backup with xml.

    p.s.
I don't know how to create a xml file
You don't need to create garmindevice.xml, nuvi will create by itself.
On nuvi create empty folder Garmin.
Turn nuvi on, off and connect to Pc.
Now you will see garmindevice.xml in your folder Garmin on nuvi.
Look only if you have on the end .tmp or .xml.
If you have .tmp just rename it to .xml and run webupdater.

Look in inventory page what bootBLK do you have is 851 0r 1074
Hold battery icon for 10 sec (if this dont work then hold clock), then go to page 2 and click on start test and then button More and you will be in inventory page.
Here you will see bootBLK and let me know what number is writen.

    851 is normal

    1074 is MTK
