Default Can you unlock routes on nuvi 1340?

    Hello,

From what I've seen, it is possible to unlock the routes, but I cant find the correct FW to do this or a detailed enough how to. Could someone provide a live link to the right FW and some steps please.

    Thanks

Route function is only available in nuvi 14xx.
Nuvi 12xx and 13xx dont support route function in original FW and you can't unlock this function.

If you wish to have route on nuvi 1340, then you must buy deluxe FW.

Where do you get deluxe FW?

Other posts say you can upload 1460 or 1350 JPN FW to unlock routes. But this is unconfirmed, plus also it is not clear where to get this FW and how to update e.g. need to change HW ID or PCB number.

Deluxe firmware is not maintained anymore. Forget about it.

    JPN FW is here:

    http://www.iiyo.net/u_page/nuvi1360_update.aspx

Use rgn tool and add EU boot.bin and jpn resource.bin and fw_all.bin and save to rgn and flash in pre boot.

Before flashing, remove gupdate.gcd from your nuvi and rename text and voice folder to text1 and voice1.

think i've resolved that, but still cant flash jpn fw. Do you replace GCUPdate file with the jpn one?

I know updater method, am using that - is it different to pre-boot?

I know that is bad tip, but in old days this method is working and he can try.

This is only method for enable route on this series of nuvi.
Do you have some solution how can he enable routes with no problem?

The JPN firmware trick worked fine. I only have the american voice, which is a bit annoying (and other tip to get back the british one there?)

That and I've now lost bluetooth from the nuvi.

I have built some routes, but not tried following one yet, it might be fine.
