Hello everybody! i am new to this forum. My name is Christophe and i am french.
I have a 3790 that is stuck at the "loading map" level, with no mass storage access from my PC. This happened after a map update and a system update (using WebUpdater)
Garmin offered me to fix it for $150 but since a refurbished one is about $180, i bought another one.
Now the problem: i am trying to fix the old Garmin by myself;
extracting the GUPDATE.GCD from the refurbished nüvi, i built a cure .rgn using GarminCure3
In pre-boot mode, i flashed the Garmin and managed to get access to the mass-storage, removed the (faulty?) map and restarted. Of course the cure .rgn doesn't allow more than access to the mass-storage, so i ran the WebUpdater: message was "updating from current 000 system to 4.90"... but after "successful update" and reboot, i found the 3790 was still running the cure .rgn (boots and then shuts down after ten seconds)
Using the updater.exe, i managed to reinstall the GUPDATE.GCD (4.90) from the refurbished Garmin but this brought me back to step one: stuck at the "loading map" level and again, with no mass storage access.
I would be very grateful if somebody could advise me at what to do at this point?
