    Ok, thanks for the explanation.
Do I understand you correctly that v2.60 EU firmware shows C on EU units and F on US units?

Hmm... sorry, rereading myself I see a mismatch.
C and F have the same problem of the spoken language. Now, my USA with v2.60 still shows F

Does v2.60 expose that it's running on US unit somehow, except showing F instead of C?
Also can you help me find the speed lockout message and the nag message in the following text file?

Hi you could prepare for the least understood the full package "gupdate.gcd" to move to Europe with the U.S. Spanish language in menus and voices?

So everyone could go past that eagerly await. I one.

On c y f about a workshop in Belgium reprogramming the ECU to change those values while changing from miles to km, from what I gather that is not that possibility in the gps.

    regards

    Saludos

Adaptation of Amercan Goldwing radio to European frequencies.
Conversion of mileage counter (GL1800) from miles to kilometers (including converting temperature meter from Fahrenheit to Celsius).

por lo que me han explicado algunos que lo han hecho conecta un ordenador a la goldwing y reprograma la centralita
so I have explained that they have a computer connected to the goldwing and reprograms the ECU

Hopefully this helps in the txt you posted the speed msg is "MsgInvalid Operation" it is the only occurrence of this message and maybe used for things as well.

Here is the Nag message "This system provides route information~to help you reach your destination.~~Due to road conditions some recommendations~may not be appropriate.~Always obey all traffic laws and exercise~your own good judgment.~~See your Navigation System~Manual for complete instructions. "

In IDA PRO using your loader if I did it right the nag message id at 300097c7 in FW-all.bin v4.6. Invalid operation is at 3000A344

Thank you and kunix for your help

There is one more problem... Even if I find some patch, then now do we test it?
We don't know what would happen if the patched firmware would crash. Would the unit be able to flash GCD files then?
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Neil was talking about some kind of a "pre-boot" mode. And I've seen some gupdate.gcd parsing code in the bootloader. But all these facts doesn't imply that we could restore the unit by flashing gupdate.gcd if patched fw_all.bin crashes.

No problem, you can upload multiple times GCD file.
If there is a problem you need to disconnect the battery NAVI and then upload the GCD again.

In theory, it's possible to run fw_all.bin by using it as boot.bin in gupdate.gcd file. This would allow testing patched firmwares without saving them to flash, and therefore, without being afraid to brick the device.
But I'm not sure it would work, as fw_all.bin is much larger than boot.bin.

So I packed a slightly patched fw_all.bin (US v4.60 HWID 504) with gfwpack and created the following two gupdate.gcd files for HWIDs 265 and 504:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Is anyone willing to test if flashing one of the gupdate.gcd files successfully executes the patched firmware inside?
If fw_all.bin runs normally, then you would see that all the displayed strings were replaced with "X".

I will try. SO I am clear I load your gupdate.gcd v4.60 into my nav and I should see all XX in the string display ? I should then be able to reload the original V4.60 back into the Nav.?
