    Hi!

    Kunix,

I need your help with my nuvi 1490 (0972, v6.20).

My case: I formated the memory of gps nuvi 1490.

I followed your excellent tutorial as far as I could.

What I have so far: access to gps files, the SD memory card, move the backup files to the gps memory, format the SD card (FAT32), updated the gps with WebUpdater, and MapInstall Express.

If I plug the GPS into the USB from my computer, without pressing the upper left corner, I can use MapSource, GarminExpress, WebUpdater, MapInstall, etc. ..
Unable to update the GPS with WebUpdater and GarminExpress.

What is happening: When I disconnect the GPS from the computer it will not forward stands on Garmin logo.
It seems I am missing some startup procedure or there is some error that prevented it. The GPS does not access the route and other functions, the GPS does not leave the Garmin logo.

    Thank you very much.

    It's written in the tutorial:
Please note that the CURE firmware will never boot, it can only enter the mass storage mode.

    @kunix

Do you now how to unbrick 1490 stop at Garmin logo, no pre boot and don't detect SD card?

In working nuvi after you see logo the screen dims a bit and then is writen model number, but on this 1490 after you see logo only tick is from speaker and stay on Logo screen 1 day and don't go nowhere.

I don't know anymore what to try to repair this nuvi.

I hope you have some idea.

lolypop000, I don't know how to fix such devices, sorry. My research of how to boot a device from SD has shown that it's impossible due to factory hardware config.

You must now flash with Garmincure3 in Original Mode

I added in starting post a note in big and bold because users don't notice kunix's warning and don't flash original sw after curing

Run cure tool and set to original and flesh in pre boot and your nuvi will start.
