All of the methods above works (if the device works at all). Just follow them and the tricky part is to *hunt* when it is available to the PC for few seconds - that is the exact method when you can access it - it is just the only chance... I made tens of attempts... Do not give up

ok,I think i change de 3790 boot.bin with the 34xx boot.bin(ldr.bin) because i did a wrong thing when trying to buck up with the NV backup sd method, therefore its detected by de updater as an 34xx i dont know how to restore de 3790 boot.bin.
But the good news are thay I could copy the hole unit also an gupdate.gcd archive before it crash maybe these help.
Im afraid of flashing with FW for 34xx because i did not "Now hard reset Nuvi clearing non vol in Debugging menu :hold your finger in Volume page, upper right corner ,landscape position, go to Developer infos/Non vol Statistics, press the 3 Bars menu and Clear Non Vol.Rename Txt ,Voices and Keyboards folders in your Nuvi to another name eg Petx Poices etc."
    Tnx.

Get the preboot mode and start again reading with care this thread here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Step by step please Please read with care ! and follow it
Naturally leave the NV backup now, but when you'll restore your 3790 to 34xx do it.

Many thanks to you ! like a phoenix resurrected my 3790 as a 34xx, I'm very happy thank you again for helping a newbie like me,these things are what really give satisfaction and pride members to the forums, thanks again !!!
I will perform the NV backup in SD Now !!! with the instructions"rrgn,41,1:/41_backup.bin ...reboot , etct , etc " in a directory name with my new HWID (1376), etc, serene !,I already memorized !
Entire unit is less than 1,9gb, question: can i use a 2GB memory instead of an 8gb ? or is something like an image buckup.
I lost voice commands and de sw version is 710 so i will use : 2xxx and 3xxx series enable features application but i dont see the voice commands icon to enable it flashing region 140 ,is there a new tool ? because the hardware is prepared to do this and should be software limitation only.
Thank you all ,I hope not to ask more questions... soon Jajaja !!!

NV backup are just few Bites
For voice commands you need files for 34xx, download them from CN thread. Have you hard resetted it: clear Non Vol etc?

Hi im doing this sentence "rrgn,140,1:/reg_140.bin reboot" but i dont see any new archive named reg_140.bin after it power off it self .
Or do i have to write something like "rrgn,140,1:/dump140.bin or rrgn,140,1:/reg_140_buckup.bin".
    Sorry,Its always dificult to me.
