myTrends: is it working??
hi all,
it is more than one full months that i'm using the upgraded nav. I have some doubts now related to the mytrends feature. It is advertised as the ability of the nav to suggest your destination based on your usage, and even suggest different routes instead of the calculated one if it discover that you usually go for another way.
firstly, am I correct? may be i misunderstood something ...
every monday, wednesday and friday i go from home to B, same hour, 8am, the same route. Every monday etc. evening I come back home.
tuesday and thursday is for C location, 8am, and coming back each evening. My expectations are that, at least, the nav understands that every evening I go back home, after 2-3minutes of driving. being more smart, I'm also expecting it to suggest me B and C correctly, based on the day of the week.
and also, every evening while coming back home, it suggests me a route which includes a level crossing: shorter if open, but i prefer another route without the crossing. a bit longer, but fixed in time. Trains on this crossing pass very randomly, thus it is difficult to predict if it is open or not.
well, i was expecting that after a week or two, avoiding the crossing, every day, the nav should have not suggested any more a route with the crossing, but my usual route.
what do you think on it?
how can i verify that mytrends is really working?
L

@Luk70
My Trends only works if you use Where to Favourites
If you use any other method of destination selection like using map POI or custom POI or Trip Planner or Adress My Trends will not work.
I've experienced my 3490 making a suggestion a few times in the morning.
As far as selecting the route that you prefer I have never had that feature actually work.

Hey guyz, I completed all the above steps and now I am in the part where I see no logo but i have the 34xx firmware! Then i tried to install 34xx logo by extracting ''convert37x34.zip'' into my memory card and then followed the instruction( turn off, insert memory card....) but still it shows 3760? What I am doing wrong?
ps. I didn't do this step ''Go to volume page ,get Debugging menu and reset Nuvi again, restart it and go to Debugging menu again'' and this also ''At the end it's always better to reset it again and remember to reset Mass storage mode'' as I didn't find them, know them!

Thank you for replying again mate, two questions : 1) You said that I should run Webupdater - By doing this means that I will be updated to 7.60 which in the first post I understood that you recommend to have v7.10 as it is most compatible with features? So should I still run Webupdater?
2) can you tell me the procedure to install the logo (convert37x34.zip), I may did it wrongly or there is may be another procedure you may know?
1) Webupdater is needed to download files for 34xx, some are different from 37xx ones.
2) files for sd are the easiest way
Read post n1 if you prefer an alternative method with updater.exe in preboot mode to flash logo, but with sd files you'll abilitate 34xx features too like mp3 and video player etc.
Read posts all is explained properly, no need to repeat

First you enable "new" features (mp3, video, etc) with the xml files (copy all of them together) and then you will use webupdater to update the firmware and all the additional features, downloading the proper files for 34xx (like keyboards etc.).
Webupdater recognizes your device as 34xx now, and all the files you can see in the additional updates section of webupdater are for a 34xx device.
