Full transform to 3490 succesfully too. The most "difficult" part of this "easy" tutorial was the preboot entering.
Thank you all!
Once you got preboot while have no logo then the next time will be easier.

awesome thread everyone, with lots of reading I was able to convert my 3760 to a 3490. I stress that any newbie read, reread and reread again before you do something that you may regret.
I will test it out over the next few days and report back if I have any issues. Special thanks to catymag and turboccc. turboccc nice to see you around on the net. I assume you are the same turboccc from testing sites, but maybe not. Anyway thanks to everyone who has contributed to the thread and the conversion
Cheers

I'd like to second the kudos for turbocc and catymag. I've been using my conversion for about a week now and have no desire to go back.
I had to reinstall the lifetime map update to restore some of the voice commands. Found that you can use the speed limit adjustment to speed up simulations, but it changes the limit on that segment for normal driving also. So not a good idea to use it that way. I wonder if those speed limit changes are sent to Garmin along with changes to POI's ?
just to pass on some more information. Did a short test this afternoon and I have a 33760 with pcb board version 8 and I have had none of the reported issues with the vehicle icon skipping or being jittery.
PCB Description V8 4gb 035 DA TC GM
My software is at 6.50 version
GPS firmware is 3.04.03
have to check though my accuracy seems to be a little off as just a few others have reported.
