If you clear non vol and then flash 37xx to 34xx you have satellite accuracy problem.
Usually I clear nonvol ram before and after flashing. After flashing I cleared nonvol ram several times, and gps accuracy is 5-3 meters.

    @aekhong

    We flash 3790.(PCB 8)
And after flash is over and we update nuvi with webupdater and install maps and go outside to lock satellite, then we clear nonvol.
But if we cleare nonvol before flashing and before webupdater we have satellite accuracy problem.(17-127mts)
We spend all day for testing.
Today one another friend flash 3790 to 3490 with clear nonvol before flashing (PCB 8) and he have accuracy problem.(17-127mts)
I flash nuvi back to 3790 and then update all file for 3790 and go outside to lock satellite.
Then friend flash 3790 back to 3490 (not clear nonvol) satellite accuracy is 3-5 mts.

Yes my BB torch has the bluetooth Message Access Protocol (MAP) set. So it should work but I do not see the icon on the GPS... I do not know why, Garmin is showing that my phone is supported.

I did check the instructions below but still not working...
If the nuvi is paired to a mobile phone that does not have MAP, it will not read text messages. If your phone has MAP but you are still not getting text message notifications, you may need to refer to your phone's manual for steps on how to ensure that MAP is enabled.

Additionally, your nuvi will only read text messages if you have a text-to-speech voice language selected.

To change the voice language on a nuvi 3490LMT:

Touch Settings on the main menu
    Touch Language & Keyboard
    Touch Voice Language
Select a voice language that indicates that it speaks street names
    Touch Save

This is an interesting thread about safe text messaging:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

So clearly it doesn't work for the 3790 but should work for the 3490, that is why I am wondering if something is missing in the files and the bluetooth connection is still from the 3790???

If BT feature is enabled in 34xx ,webupdater sees it as a 3490 and in case it should download any missing file.
Smartphone Link app , is working fine in 34xx. Perhaps this safe text feature isnt working in any Nuvi

    Finally got it working.
Here is what I had to do with the Blackberry torch:
    Select the MAP option
remove the email and new message notification, keep only the SMS/MMS
I wonder if that will mess up my playbook connection...

Sooo, can we compose messages??? Or just listen to them.

I've got lifetime map upgrades for my 3760T, if converting to a 3460 will I still get map updates or will that connection be lost?

You will be able to get map updates now as for Nuvi 34xx, but only Garmin if it will last for long.

I flashed my 3790LMT US model last night to the 34xx firmware. I'm trying to restore my 3790 back as it was before flashing to the firmware for the 34xx. I made a complete backup of my 37xx and all the folders. When I boot my nuvi up I don't see the black screen where the Garmin logo is where I hold the power button down to get to the preboot and press on the G in garmin. I can't get the updater to work now to flash back my firmware. The updater never shows the nuvi under usb device . I've changed the the settings under MTP several times and tried all of them and still the updater never sees my nuvi. I,ve Cleared the NonVol each time and still doesn't show up. Any suggestions?
