    @kunix
I was just breeding "food for thought" because of that user on the other forum that did not delete GUPDATE.GCD as per your instructions.
Another issue. If I use LDR.BIN from the memory card version 5.8 on a 1300 running 6.00 after completion in the inventory screen it shows me.
    Boot BLK xxxxxxx 5.80
    X-Loader xxxxxxx 5.80
    System xxxxxxxx 6.00
This tells me that using LDR.BIN from the Memory Card actually reflashes the Boot BLK and X-Loader.
    Is this assumption correct ?

Yes, boot.bin contains the bootloader and the x-loader and flashes them when executed.
I see that many users are too lazy to follow instructions carefully. I don't like reading long texts and thinking too much either, so I can't blame anyone.
That's why I'm planning to create an utility which will patch boot.bin in a quite complex way, then send it to the device in the pre-boot mode, and then the boot.bin will format NV while preserving some important values (if you know what I mean ) and format the internal flash drive.
All the user data will be lost, but there are no need follow complex instructions.

If you try to scan NVM on dezl760 with this command:

    rrgn,140,1:/Garmin/140.bin

you have in updater.log success but on SD no 140.bin

    If you add this command

    rrgn,140,2:/Garmin/140.bin

you can scan NVM and you have 140.bin on SD

I think tha 1:/ is for rwfs becouse if you look in FW you will see beside 1:/ only few .System folder but after 2:/ you see Garmin folder.

    In New Fw is example: 0:/ .System/JCV .... 2:/ Garmin/JCV but on 3490 you have 0:/.System/JCV .... 1:/Garmin/JCV

Maybe 1:/ is a hidden partition or drive
Try to look with Computer Management Disk Management

Install garmin usb drivers from garmin site and use cure tool3 and you can repair your 1300, but your nuvi must turn on to see logo
