Default 255w with JCV Lane Assistant ??

can someone make a actual firmware (7.50) to accept JCV and lane assistant ??
i know there is some tutorial to make it but its outdate and in Brazil maps it wont work...
if someone could modify i will be appreciated, i know its an "old" model, but its a very good GPS.

    1. Define "out of date".

    2. Building a firmware won't work. The hardware and firmware of a 2x5 series nüvi are sufficiently different that simply putting new firmware on the device won't work without some necessary preparation. There is a reason the tutorial requires so much preparation.

Rik, I think you may be missing what he's getting at. He's already read the tutorial, but doesn't like the amount of preparation that is involved in changing the firmware. He's wanting a modified firmware like what is available in the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] thread.

Pedro, there is no modified firmware to give those features because the 2x5 units use a completely different firmware that cannot be easily disassembled like the firmware for nüvi 1xxx units. If you're not willing to go through the tutorial for whatever reason, then your only other option is to follow the second link Rik provided, to turn a 2x5 nüvi into a 465 Trucker nüvi, which will give you Lane Assist.

JCV and Line Assist is possible for the 2x5W units (change alternative firmware = JPN, SG, MY, CHN..), read [Only registered and activated users can see links. ],
but better is change the 2x5W to 465T, as well as wrote in the discussion SandyLake.
Line Assist and Multiple Route with many waypoints is the best for travel, but lose mod pedestrian, I do not mind.
I do not mind and even loss of JCV, it also shutdown in iGOprimo navigation, important are the Line Assistance.

I don't know if you're talking to me Rik or whether you're talking to Pedro.

In any event, we both agree that changing the firmware can be done and that there are a couple different ways that it can be done. I had contemplated changing to the 465 firmware for my roommate's 255W, since I can't use the other method you linked to (S4 motherboard). But, if the OP isn't willing to go through the steps necessary to make it happen there's not much we can do except talk in circles.
