Angry Nuvi 3790T software update to V4.30 stop see my SD card maps

    Hi everybody,
I have updated the software in my Nuvi 3790 to ver. 4.30.
Since then, I cannot see any other maps than officially acquired from Garmin with gma authorization code. Even if is in Garmin internal memory or SD card.
I have officially bought Hungarian, Romanian and Adria maps and even these maps are not seen anymore.
I have tried to reinstall and resend these maps to unit SD but nothing happened.

Does anybody knows if Garmin started to use a hidden application in firmware that protects using unofficial maps?

Any info will be much appreciated. Even if is necessary and how to to get back to ver. 4.20

    1) To download the region file
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    2) Bring nuvi37xx_GCDFile__420.gcd to computer where your device is attached.

3a) Then you can drag-and-drop nuvi37xx_GCDFile__420.gcd onto the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] icon on your desktop.

3b) Or you can invoke [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] at the command line, passing in the region file as a parameter:

    C:\>WebUpdater.exe c:\path\to\nuvi37xx_GCDFile__420.gcd

I read more and more complaints from FW 4.30 for 37xx series. Seems quite buggy. Try the pietu suggestion and downgrade to 4.20. That could help. If not perform Master Reset and Clearing of the Non-volatile memory.

I use 3790US with US fw 4.30 now and I have all maps within both internal memory and sd card.
JCV in sd card\garmin\jcv\ still works.
I modified original swv 430 to be 219 and flashed via pre-boot mode.

    Default SD Card problem?

I have had EU map in sd card, worked fine. (eg SD Card\Map\eumap.img)
I had a problem that Nuvi won't see my EU map within sd card anymore. I tried to make new folder eg sd card\MAP2 then copied EU map into new one then deleted sd card\MAP folder and rename sd card\MAP2 --> sd card\MAP folder. My EU map works again.!!
