Pin Lock lost ? Get help here if you prove your ownership

This thread has been set out for those who lost their nuvi Pin Lock.
The requirements for anyone seeking to unlock a unit are: 'Prove your ownership by PM or go away'.
Prove that it is your device, and a not stolen one.
Could you tell (by pm , not in thread)
    1) your device's UnitID.
    2) take a photo of the device's serial number written on the device itself.
    3) take a few photos of the device's package and in particular the serial number written on it?
If yes you can post in this thread and wait for knowledgeable users help.

help Garmin Pin Lock -I Cant Access Filesystem

My GPS has the Garmin Lock enabled which requires the PIN to access it. Unfortunate it is not accepting keystrokes at the PIN screen when starting the GPS. Through some complicated steps discovered by trial and error, I can now get it to accept my PIN while connected to the computer only.

So using my PIN I can access the file system from the computer, I can use mapsource, etc.

After accessing the file system, is there a way to delete the Garmin Lock from the computer (such as deleting a certain file) or through any Garmin or non-Garmin utility?

    Thankis!

Looking at another angle, I can get the nuvi 855 to accept the PIN via pre boot mode while connected to external USB power (not a computer). However it hangs on either the Garmin screen or more often, "Loading Maps."

I even tried renaming the .img files so that there would be no maps to load but this did not work. Re-installing the maps via WebUpdater didn't work either.

Is there a way get past the Loading Maps screen or perhaps a different rgn boot image that could bypass the problem? I did try re-installing the Garmin rgn file, but it didn't change anything.

    Thanks!

    Try hard reset nuvi.
If you have SD card remove it.
Remove all map from nuvi to computer and try to turn on nuvi.

To close the loop on this, I was able to restore the Nuvi. Finally, another attempt at re-installing the boot loader was able to get me into the system long enough to disable the Garmin Lock feature. I had tried this three times prior without success. I'm not sure what caused it to get into that condition where it would not boot (even via PreBoot mode), all I had done previously was use it for a long drive and shut it off. Thanks for all the advice, the device had been really hosed badly.

    Default Nuvi 1390PIN Locked

1st off, it's NOT stolen, I purchased form a pawnshop! Now that said, I have a Nuvi 1390 With a Pin/location security lock, is there any way other than sending to Garmin for an unlock. If I could atleast get windows to recognize it when plugged in I might be able to work with it. I even tried to have Ubuntu detect it when I plugged it in, but nothing. if anyone has a sure way please let me know, other wise this is money wasted.
