    Look at your device HWID and compare with nuvi 40 sw HWID.

    TH Localised nuvi 40 has HWID 1507, if they have the same PCB P/Ns you can cross flash though, check here how to find: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    But why would you want to flash TH 40 firmware to it? You won't get any more features and you'll lose the newer-style icons. If your unit is TH nuvi 42 i suspect no firmware update is available for it:

    I want firmware (TH nuvi 42) older or newer.
    Because after upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1, The screen does not respond After approximately 10-30 minutes.
