Garmin extremely not actual in this context! Moreover I do not know about Italian language but I am often need to switch to English that understand a menu item in Russian What is why I extract TXT source from gupdate.gcd and make full translation myself...

I came to the conclusion that this is a failed attempt to set a countdown for sorting with a certain letter. If no letter selected it is OK. But I do not have any waypoint except demo!

    Hi, First post!
The first thing I tried to do when I got a 62s last week is save the firmware file.
It appears the web updater deletes it when it is done or something.

How can you retain the firmware files to keep them here, and use them with the patcher?
    Cheers, Art.

Read the posts on the topic, especially the 1 and 3: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Or download from this Index: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Download the firmware that you want and apply the firmware patcher. You will have an original and a modified version. Rename the modified to gupdate.gcd and copy it to the garmin folder of the memory card or to internal memory of the gps. Initialize the gps and wait until the end of the process. Be sure, first of all, that the batteries are charged and do not interrupt the update process in any way.

PS: today is my day to be a "good boy".. I want to go to heaven lol

Thanks for the reply, I was able to download the latest 480 fw version
I'm not interested in the patcher, I want to write another one of these for the 62 series:

Garmin 60CSx Whiz - 60CSx Hacking Hack the graphics

Garmin are still not encrypting or checksumming their firmware files,
and all of their graphics are clear to see (and replace) in their firmware files
    (16 bit graphics these days).
    Cheers, Art.

    Hi again,
Can anyone tell me what this is:
    Code:

It's in the firmware for 62s, and some other units.
How do you see it on the GPS unit?
