Now if I have succeeded, had installed the plugin Notepad but could not install it.

first use the other program ...

They are doing a cure at a Nuvi 255w and can not enter in pre-boot mode

The problem if I take the Target esque keeps restarting even if you have the button depressed, to stop it I have to put the memory SD with the SD set starts well, but even if you have not stepped on the button goes blank if not that follows its normal boot process and not recognized by the pc
    software version 7.20
id. xxxxxx255 / audio version Missing / gps sw version. 4.10b
american language only has the English, has no voice or traffic or radar 20011.32 only maps but only if I put the target
    any ideas?

    @ esfranky

    First please answer this questions:

    1. What did you do last to the nuvi to reach that condition? This is really very important. Did you format your nuvi for example in NTFS? Did you copy maps, POI etc in its memori.? Did you update its firmware? Be specific please. (Hope I understand your comment correct - nuvi reboots when turned on and not possible to be connected to PC. But when an SD card is pulled in it boots normal but still not possible to be connected to PC. Am I correct?)

    2. Which firmware is using your nuvi? Which HwId? 1091 or 827?

    3. What steps did you try to recover your nuvi?

I have an idea but please first answer this questions.

Hello, first, the Nuvi is not mine, I helped through my blog ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) in Spanish

    I'll give user feedback

hi everyone I am new to these conflicts, I was told that the gps as a computer, and as I did not carry me back up and format, does not start lights and try to load the maps and I get (
Detailed maps not found and many more things you can do something to revive thank everyone in advance
not recognized by the PC, turn on and off attempts to load, so continuously, if I can turn it off I put the Target
I got to the Target that works well, but comes in English and has no voice or leave the radar
The program is fast IMG Unlocker 2.0, placed in a folder and a gampsupp.img garmin. loads only and the time is loaded
can be made lake, they told me to let it drain the battery and turn
thank you very much coseguimos aver if that works, there are several with the same problem
Europe is working for me NT CN 2011.32, is it about Target,
esque rare but not detected pc.si remove the Target is set to restart and unfinished turns off and reboots, so continually drain the battery pole.
if you find a way to get data on the target and but I tried to format the data target and stick with the installed MapaSource but put in the Target does not recognize and does not work, it only works with the program Unlocker IMG Fas 2.1 and the I said 2011.G32 files
are 6 files in WinRAR to decompress that generate gmapsupp.img
    installs it automatically

Now I understand. So this i s why you wanted to know how to make cure on the 82701000720 firmware. Very nice Ok, will leave it to you to make the "cure".

    1. After you install notepad++ download and extract this file into the folder Notepad++\plugin:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

and you will have a very good Hex Editor for free in your Notepad++.

    2. If you still can't manage suggest this ones.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

First suggest the PO to try the 500 cure version.

    3. Sorry, but I still couldn't understand was the nuvi formatted?

Your cure FW is longer in size that the original FW. That is wrong! It should be same in size. Don't do that as you can broke the nuvi. Better use the one I posted in my previous post.

Sorry, I got very confused by your comments. You should be more specific. Most probably this cure won't help the guy. The reason is that this method only helps when there is problematic files in the memory or bad sectors and no access to the memory. But if the memory is formatted let say in NTFS, FAT32 etc. most probably it won't work. I really don't know. If I am not mistaken nuvi 2x5 series are using FAT. Here what I have encounter as solutions over the internet when the memory is formatted:

    Code:

and maybe the only one that surely can help:

That is the only thing I can think of.

Help neeeded ! please. I have a nuvi 255w and (unfortunately) i loaded a map from internet, i named gmapprom1.img (i saw it somewhere) and.... the unit doesnt start... when turning on, shows the loading maps text for a few seconds and turns off. When conecting to PC, happens the same, loading maps text for fex seconds and turns off and turns on and off in a cicle.

    Read lots of forums:

1.First tried to reset by turning on the device and click the screen on botton-right corner. nothing happens. with and withouth sd.
    2. pre boot ? move and hold for 8 seconds the power button, and the same happens, loading maps text for seconds and turns of. with and w/o sd.

I really cant access to unit to perform any cure you mentioned. If i only could access from my pc to the unit, and delete the (unfortunately) wrong gmapprom1.img file...

Please, if you can give one extra advice or should i go for other unit? i loved my 255, all my pois, places, etc i would hate to loose it. And promise not to do such copy paste again. Thanks in advance.

    @ matiasmalaccorto

Write the HwID of the unit and I will post you a firmware which will give you access to the memory of the unit where you can delete the problematic file.
