kunix was making a joke: he works for Alexander2010 who makes the Deluxe firmware. He knows you can't compare, but it makes one more sell... LOL! Good marketing!

I know this is an old thread and I did check to see if there was any rules about digging up an old thread first before I replied.

I am basically trying to do what the person who started this thread set out to do and I am encountering some difficulties.

    I have a 3760T and I am trying to get 3D on it by upgrading to the modded firmware using the tool from turboccc. My troubles are this, my GPS was on US 4.90 firmware when I started this and I have done which I think is correct and so far have not been able to unlock 3D buildings. I have done this;

    1. Grabbed the GUPDATE.GCD from the 3760T
    2. Used RGN_tool 0.84 to apply the 3790T patch to the GUPDATE.GCD file
    3. Created the RGN from this patched GCD
    4. Used updater.exe to transfer the RGN to the unit (while in pre-loader
    5. Restarted after updater.exe said it was successful

This is where I am not now, no 3D buildings. I put the 3D maps on there, I can see them listed alongside my normal maps and they are checked. Also interestingly enough there is no ASR or POIs (I don't think US units get POI on maps, but not too worried about this).

I am thinking that the next step is to flash an older US firmware then use the RGN tool again to upgrade to the patch 4.90.

I have also seen a thread about upgrading a 37xx to a 34xx, which I am considering if the above doesn't work.

    Does anyone have any comments?

What did. Rgn_tool say in step 2?
Did you forget gupdate.gcd within .system folder?

May be the oldest problems - searching for 3D in empty area and also no ASR file in proper folder?
wobbler, where do you search for 3D building and do you copy ASR and SRX files to ASR folder?

@aekhong, I removed the gupdate.gcd from the .system\ folder, sorry I missed that piece of info.

@giomen, I searched for buildings in New York City (manhattern), ASR and SRX files were not copied, I will do that right now and test.

Open file GarminDevice.xml in Garmin folder with NotePad or any text editor. Search for text the gmap3d and the gmapdem. If you will found its you have no problem with SW and have problem with correct maps!

For downgrading to 4.80 you must simply copy the 4.80 firmware GCD file in device. !!! After restart you will see the warning about you will lose all your data as Favorites (your waypoints) and it is TRUE! Make backup for future restore before flashing!!! But If you have the positive result for my advice above you must find any mistakes in file integrity.
