Can we upgrade SG 3790 v2.5 to China Firmware v2.4 by using the original boot from SG V.2.5?

You may get rebooting loop but you can try.
Prepare original Sg/My rgn file to come back Sg/My if you get problem.

So in terms of features, the CHN 2.2 is better than the SG/MAL 2.3?

Just want to try the Video Player for my 3790 SG. Is there any solution to add this function?

    Then use
    Original Sg/My boot.bin(1288) + CHN240 resources.bin + CHN240 fw_all.bin (HWID to 1288) and good luck to you.

If fail., come back Sg/My with original Sg/My gcd saved to rgn and flash your nuvi.

is there any functional difference between chinese and taiwan fw?
    which one is more stable?

i flashed to chinese 2.40 last night on my 3750, didnt like it much so i flashed it back to usa 4.20 today.
reason: slower map drawing speed, slower vehicle movement (laggy sort of), system crash more often

wondering if tw fw is better or no

    Hi badboy,

Yes, CHN may be a bit slower to redraw but I don't remember see it crash on me. Still, CHN allows me to see 3D Building view and see all POI icons on map at 80m. I like the Video and Media Player too although I do not use them often. All those features are on the TW version as well. I like the Where-To "Go to Office" which is not on the TW version.
