This version cannot retrieve the CARD ID number from certain Chinese PNAs therefore
you cannot unlock the software. I I got the CARD ID no (hexa) from the PNA (just press the battery level meter) and converted into decimal which Garmin uses and then put it
into the keygen making SW.UNL, it did not work. It seems Garming is trying to check
the retrieval of the CARD ID No at every start but always fails. Maybe dosn't recognize
the card as SDMMC instead of storage card. The ID in the decice.xml file remains zero.

    Entaro and Catymag,

I finally got the Garmin GPS version 5.00.20wp working on the China PND. Entaro is correct that the "Cancel Button" to cancel the GPS satellite scanning is located behind the task bar at the bottom of the screen. I used the similar method as the desktop computer button by pressing "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Taskbar & Start Menu" to hide the taskbar to get into the "Cancel Button" to stop GPS scanning. Then I follow the same way suggested by Catymag. After that everything work fine. However, I discovered some bug this morning after I used the device to for 60KM, the Garmin suddenly stop and an error windows came up saying that I have not sufficient memory and suggest that I close some application before I restart Garmin again. My SD card is 2GB and only used up 250MB. The internal memory of the PND is 4GB but only used up less than 1.5GB. I guess this could be similar to the Desktop Windows (especially all windows build from plateform before window NT) where there is memory leakage that consume all the memory space and Window need to be re-started to free up the memory caused by leakage.

I will try to get another memory card over the week end and try installing the ASN version of Garmin 5.00.30 ASN and test out what Rapidjani's hypothesis. However, I did faced what Rapidjani's claim here that the ASN version request me to insert the "Garmin XT card" before I can bring the software up. I will try see if there is any other way.

By the way, any of you have the South East Asian Garmin map. I search out web location suggested but it seems that all the maps are deleted.

Thanks Entaro and Catymag for the advice. It is very useful. I really like this site as you all girls/guys are just wonderful and very committed.

    Cheers,

if you are able to run v5.00.30 ASN successfully but could not get the Card ID number, you should do this:

    - For those who had problem with "No Valid ID" please download below and replace it at Apps>WM folder.
Download: This is only when device see SDMMC on your storagecard. Please change accordingly to your device.

(procedure is located at the first page of this thread)

otherwise, if you could not run this version properly, try v5.00.20w instead.. v5.00.20w should work with certain China made PND's with WinCE 6.

i'm glad to be of help. your memory issues could be a bug in WinCE6 core or the v5.00.20w itself. i do also encounter some issues from time to time (e.g. Garmin suddenly crashes, etc.).. usually it crashes right after the Garmin software has loaded or a few minutes of clicking but never during navigation.. i'm using v5.00.30 ASN version. just hope for the best i guess.

by the way, try these asian maps:

    4. Saves Garmin settings
    5. Safely stops and exits Port Splitter

    Troubleshooting:
    For Windows CE 4 devices:
    rename coredl2.dll to coredl2.wince5.dll and rename coredl2.wince4.dll to coredl2.dll
If it still does not work try various combinations of aygshel2.dll and coredl2.dll

For 480x272 devices, if the map screen does not display so well:
    rename QueBmp240.dll to QueBmp240_orig.dll and rename QueBmp320.dll to QueBmp240.dll

Edit Garmin\RunGMXT\Garmin.mscr to change the PortSplitter settings.
For devices that do not need PortSplitter delete all the lines for PortSplitter in this script.

    Updates:
The top screen bug has been fixed. No reason to display a background image anymore.
Created a dummy wininet.dll that should work in Windows CE 4 devices too.
All above links have been updated.

Then it will try to search for a GPS device. Cancel any requests for a GPS unit as this will not work until you have unlocked the software.

note: you must first cancel the GPS receiver scanning screen in order for you to properly get back to Garmin main manual screen.

    - Then follow remaining steps (ie. Download JetMouse's кεygεn) given by catymag.

    I hope this helps.
    Thank for these tips!
I'll try it later. Hopefully, it is going to work with me device.
