    Wink GarminMobileXT v.5.00.20 Patched-longlasting battery

    GarminMobileXT v.5.00.20 Patched-longlasting battery

    89j17deScreenshot n95 battery level 794407

This is patched version 5.00.20 made by platijet.
It solves short battery life issue and problem with images on gallery, just copy folder "Garmin" to your memory card, then run "GarminMobileXT.sis"

    CAUTION...!!!!!
If you have allready install any 5.xx.xx of GARMIN then you must unistall and then format memory card.
    Else problem still remain.

this file actually includes a fix that does something to the cardrunner.dll file that is found to cause high battery consumption (running in the background, high ram consumption )

Thanks for posting this good news; we were waiting for a patch to fix this battery related bug, so that we can finally upgrade to 5. My question: Upgrading from Garmin 4.X to 5.00.20 will mess up the functionality of the already installed maps (meaning reinstallation needed), or will they still be accessible after the upgrade?

you'll have to reinstall coz your garmin product code will change, or for precision,
you'll have files in folder but you'll have to reedit unlock notepad files

Be careful if one of you tries to install it to an E71; not only I failed, but now I cannot revert to a working Garmin 4.X either !! Here's what I've been through, until now: Installed 5.00.20 over 4.X; application started, but dhe displayed Garmin program icons looked like they were designed for a different screen size. In addition, the bottom of the screen was covered with a yellow stripe with some red triangles, not allowing me to see all the text displayed on the screen. It was practically no way to get to work through the menus, to insert codes, ID or the likes. So I decided to revert to my my working 4.X, as I previously did a full backp of my phone. So I formatted the memeory card and run a full restore. The restore was apparently successful, but still left some application not working, among them ...Garmin. Then, I thought maybe reinstalling the phones's last software version would help. So I did a reinstalation of the phone's current software version. This wnt again successful, but when I tried to install Garmin 4.X it failed, saying something about certificate expiration. Tried to fool it by changing the phoe date; managed to install it, reverted the phone date but the application does not start at all; It displays shortly the Garmin logo and then pops out. Tried to install 5.002., same issue as with 4.X.

Currently I myself am a mess, dunno what else to try, and really f...ed up for messing up a perfectly working older Garmin XT just to get a damnednewer one... Yeah, never fix a working thing!

    Try this one:
Uninstall Garmin. Use file manager to go to E:/Garmin/Apps/Symbian/Res and delete GarminMobileXT.sis

    Reinstall Garmin again.

Thanks for the tip Phetch01, but there was no GarminMobileXT.sis in there; at least it was no longer there when I checked.
Anyway, after spending some hours with installing and uninstalling, formatting and restarting, I finally managed to get the 4.X again up and running. No more testing of 5.00.20 for me here! Good luck to you all.

^ I'm happy you managed to get it all back to normal. I've been running 5.00.20 for months.

With a new SD card and the newest firmware 200.21.118 I had some freeze problems though. Can't determine whether it was Garmin or other @#$% I installed. I formatted the SD and am running now on 4.20.20. It's running smoothly. Let's see what's happening.
