Android Streetpilot v2.35 app release (res 800 by 480) for Android 4.2.2 to 4.4.4

    2eumpt0

    2wmmo0j

This is a special version for resolution 800 by 480 (maybe works with other)

    Changes
    • Search on Main page works for addresses, ie, 123 Main st, enter with keyboard. Voice command, sometimes works, sometimes crashes SP. Previous searches also show up in the list too, very handy. In version 2.33, 2.36, 2.37, Search function seems to work only with keywords, ie Pizza.
    • Import/Export GPX seem to work but sometimes crashes.
    • Run more stable

    Instructions
    1. Download and Install the correct path apk for your device.
    2. Download, Extract and Copy Garmin folder to your device appropriate path (link below in Note1)
    3. Create Map folder in Garmin folder and copy your maps there.
    4. Run the app. It might crash on first launch, simply start it again.
    5. Get in your car and...

Note1: For Garmin folder and other voices get them from lolypop000 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] For Maps [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Note2: If app always crashes or you get black/white screen, sorry, no fix yet. The device CPU/GPU could be incompatible. Try different Android if possible.

    Warning

    1. Maps compiled by CGPSMapper compiler often crash when calculating a route or recalculating a route, Garmin City Navigators work fine. A workaround here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    2. Volume: On some devices Volume must be managed by phone volume settings after starting SP.
    3. Time settings not right?
Solution: download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and put it in the .System folder.
    4. If you want JCV showing, you must use picture size 212*234 version split screen for 40/50 etc series.
For CNE only NTU version provides it.
SP acts like 34xx/37xx series so use addition files for 34xx/37xx.
    5. All settings (Locales etc,) will be retained after you get satellites fix and Street Pilot gets the position after 2 runs.
    6. GPS ON drains a lot of battery so, when you close SP close GPS too by hitting the backbutton and selecting "OK". Don't exit using your "Home" button.
    7. If Backspace key don't work, try Swiftkey keyboard or Hackers keyboard known to work.

Note: For custom paths use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Press the three bars (menu) and select the shortcuts you want to keep with Remove Shortcut(s).

SP 2.35 runs faster than 2.33 in my HD2 with KitKat 4.4.4 (Nexus 4.7 by tytung). Resolution fits great and with Swiftkey "Search" is working very smooth. With this version HD2 locks position very fast, faster than 2.33. Very nice work, thank you so very much for releasing this version flagmax you made HD2 owners happy ones again !!!

Today I tried SP 2.33 and 2.35 both res 800x480 on HTC Droid Incredible with Cyanogenmod 10.1 Android 4.2.2. It runs full screen but graphics sometimes break up. Still usable as a poor mans GPS. But there is one BIG problem, the Back key don't work. So if search can't find anything, you are stuck and must force close. For Backspace key that works, I also use Swiftkey. Plus that's the only keyboard lets you input numbers in Search. So those that have SP working 99%, we are very lucky.

    Hi Flagmax,
I have bought an 7" tablet 800x480, currently installed, Tomtom1.4, Sygic 14.x.x and Igo Primo 2.4, however i cannot seem to install Streetpilot so i can use my Topographic and Bluesea maps.
Looking at the specs of this tablet, it reads Android Version 4.2 SpreadwinPuppis, tied to install Streetpilot 2.3 and everytime the same error, Unfortunately Streetpilot has stopped working, internal 8gb card shows as /mnt/sdcard/Garmin and external 32gb shows as /mnt/extsd/Garmin.
is there a way to make this app work withis android version4.2.
I know the current thread reads 4-2-2 and 4-4-4, but please advice if it will work or i should give up!, perhaps create the app for /mnt/sdcard and mnt/extsd so i can test and advice.

My understanding from your post is Streetpilot installs ok but when you run it, you get the Unfortunately Streetpilot has stopped working. If this is the case then I have no solution for you. You can try get logcat from device and post it, in it we can see when and where SP crashing. Maybe you can upgrade Android?

With my testing, even if I use wrong path for my device, it still runs and you do see the Locale screen but can't pass that screen. It does not crash however.

To date I have not been able to find a fix for crashing or black/white screen problem.

Lastly, you are the one to make the final decision to give up. Sometimes there aren't any options left.

I'm running 2.35 on Coolpad Arise 800x480 4.4.2 and backspace doesn't work as well, so searching is tricky. Also there are right alignment and top clipping problem when JCV is used (see attached snapshots)

BTW, it's nice of flagmax to generate all variety of path, but on my phone the following paths are equivalent
    /sdcard
    /mnt/sdcard
    /storage/sdcard0
so if you are using internal card, you can try any one of the above.
Explaination: by using a file manager such as ESFileExplorer, you can see all allowable storage devices. On my phone, if I go to /storage I will see
    /storage/emulated
    /storage/external_sd
    /storage/sdcard0
but since I do not have microSD in external slot, there is only the following mount under /mnt
    /mnt/sdcard
which means that I can access my internal memory via /mnt/sdcard as well
since UNIX like OS also have symbolic link to the mnt point via root directory, I will see it as
    /sdcard

    osiris4isis,

Today I tried to debug the Exits being off the screen but had zero success. For now my suggestion is, disable Highway Mode in Settings, Navigation.
