Works like a Charm in Galaxy S3!!
I have SP (v.2.22) also in my phone (Galaxy S2). It's a known problem at least with those earlier versions that CNE camera alerts don't work. But I'll try to check this.
What do mean by 'normal sound output' , I mean what should I check? Voices in my native language (not English) work as well (or bad...) as with the older version in my phone.
Regarding miles vs. kms, I'm in metric system so it's difficult to comment the speed conversion issue.
Now I understand your question about James and Kate... Their voices sound like after a serious Valium OD i.e. both are indeed unusable!
CNE speed cams don't work - like it is with my phone. Cam locations as custom POIs do show up on screen but I haven't been able to enable any audible alerts.

As a kind of workaround for non-functional speed cams I'm currently testing an individual warning app. It uses database from SCDB.info for fixed cams and 'real-time' data (based on information from people on the road) for mobile radars and other temporary hazards.
I invested 0,99 euros for the paid version since it can run as a widget and in background together with SP popping up for alerts only when needed. The app's basic operation therefore appears to be quite similar to Garmin's speed cams alerts.
After short testing with my SGS2 and Mediapad M1 I think that app is worth of its 'price'... However, I already discovered one annoyance which I think is common for this kind of apps: hazards are scanned and warnings given within a certain radius around the current location, even if they are not on your route. This can lead to false alarms for instance in case where another road with cams and parallel to your route runs close enough. But on highways I think this won't be so big problem.
Other obvious point is that you must start an extra app and it needs additional battery power.
I installed the apk with battery indicator fix (your post #147) but it didn't make any difference. Battery's charge level is around 70% but still only one red bar is shown.
Picture below shows partially the /mnt folder structure in my Huawei Mediapad M1 8.0.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
SP installed on the internal SD (/mnt/sdcard) using the 'GPS active version' apk (flagmax' post #83). External SD installation succeeded with lolypop's apk in post #58 (the first link) or in post #147. External SD version expects path /mnt/sdcard2/Garmin to exist before the installation is started.
For different folder structure(s), I think you need to seach the forum or ask the members for a specific apk.
Is there any version i can try with it?
android 4.2.2 with resolution 800x480 [landscape only]
Spoiler: why landscape only?
I have installed on my samsung galaxy ACE3 GTS7275R the GarminStreetPilot, but I can not see it full screen, I have installed maps CN EUROPE 2015.20 NTU
The APK is: StreetPilot_v.2.33_storage_extSdCard_Garmin JB_4.2.2.apk

If you read all post you will see that for this resolution is this problem.
With Flagmax we manage to create full screen but dashboard is not visible so we still work on this.
Outside is also new version 2.35 but ONLY for ASUS for now, we will whait when will be available to install on all device and see if with this version SP work on 800x480 or not.
PLEASE be patience and read ALL post before you make new post.
When or if SP will work on 800x480 you will know, till then don't ask the same question over and over again.
Thanks, espero con paciencia.
