It would be nice to know which apk file doesn't work in your device or it's impossible to help.
Some files work some not, what have you installed ?

    Hi Catymag/ORAK

Well to be honest, I have tried just about everything so far for Non Rooted phones, for instance

    14SP2.33_storage_extSdCard_Garmin_++_NO_ROOT_by_rf711

and off cause the latest .apk files from ORAK (#10) for Non Rooted phones and with the following external SD configuration:

    • storage/extSdCard/Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin

My phones details is mentioned in #18

But I have not yet tried the Internal memory option because I have no idea how to access the hidden .System folder there, for my phone that would be:

    • storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin

The map I have tried so far is the Garmin City Navigator Southern Africa NT 2015.20 using the unlocked gmapprom.img and gmap3d.img and the D3529120A.JCV on this post:

I do appreciate all your patience with me but to be very honest I do not really understand how this all works but it will be super great if I can get it going

    Many thanks
    Johan

In PC prepare all necessary for GSP
    gmapprom.img + 3dgmap.img + gmapdem.img + JCV
    put all in (Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin/.System).
Then copy the folder "Android" (Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin..........) in desired memory and install application GSP.
To view the hidden folder .System on Adroid phone use application Root Explorer.

Ok, for me (Note 3 v4.4.2) I tried SD card but no luck, I had to copy it to internal memory, It is a must!!

    good luck to you all.

(note: only one problem, JCV is showing black box split screen, in preview its working, only when driving towards an intersection it doesn't)

(note2: for Arabic language, the characters are flipped from left to right on map preview)

    Hi neser010

How did you manage to copy the PC prepare .System hidden folder with your map files in it over into the phone internal memory without rooting your phone first. When I try that I get an error and I DO NOT want to root my phone yet, it is still under warrantee. The External SD memory option I now understand, you simply take the Micro SD memory card temporally out the phone and put it in an SD card reader connected to the PC and then copy the pre-prepared (Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin/.System) folder on it, then I put the SD card back in the phone, install GPS and reboot the phone. For me that option still gives the dreaded white screen. But as you mentioned the External SD did not work for you either, only the Internal phone memory option. I suspect I have the same problem and I would like to try the internal memory option too but are stuck copying the files there. I do have Root_Explorer_v3_1_8.apk loaded on the phone now but I am sure I am just not aware of something really simple.

    Hi ORAK

for my phone internal memory it is
    storage/emulated/0/

What .APK would work for this memory location? I see your second option file StreetPilot2.33_4.3_storage_sdcard0.APK in thread #10 is for Internal memory (storage/sdcard0), surely that would not work for my phone internal memory (storage/emulated/0/) Would it possible to prepare me a .APK for that?

Open Garmin Folder Complet Package.rar with Winrar and rename folder ".System" to "System" then extract to your PC.

Now you can manage the folder "System" on your PC and after that copy them to SD Card or internal memory phone and rename back to ".System" on your phone.

Gentlemen, there is discussion about Garmin Street Pilot v.2.33 for Android 4.3.x non-root
There is no discussion for Android 4.4.2

The problem is the map. What map are you using?

    storage/emulated/0/ uses only Android 4.4.2

    Hi SakCyb,
my phone is not rooted, and yes I copied it first to my SD card, then copied it from the SD card to internal memory. just make sure you check (show hidden files+system protected files) on so you can see .system folder if its not copied when you do copy the entire Garmin folder from the SD card to internal memory.

    Hello ORAK,
for the Arabic language I am 100% sure that the map is NOT the problem, because I am using the same exact map on my Nuvi 2797 and its working fine. The map is (City Navigator Middle East & Northern Africa NT).

    cheers.
