Read the first post. You have to edit the libgarminos file with a hex editor.

I tried to modify libgmxt.so file permisions with Root Explorer, but there was a message that it is not possible to do on non-rooted phone.
I have non-rooted Galaxy S IV. How to solve this problem?

You can't. You will have to install one of the non rooted install versions and hope it works.

Note 2 (SCH-N719, 4.1.1): copied the garmin folder to sdcard, as instructed.
Then tied to launch apk. Unrooted version (StreetPilot_216_no_root_sdcard.apk) cannot install, says "Parse Error - There is a problem parsing the package". same with Black Wolfe's version.
    What am I doing wrong?

Successfully installed to my S3 4.1.2, but anybody of you who have same issue with the GPS bar indicator on the top left corner, the first bar indicates red and remaining is in gray, whereas this should be all in green(depends from the acquired signal) if you are already connected to the satellites.

Yes, I have the same issue with my Galaxy Note 2 JB 4.1.2 official non-rooted that the GPS indicator bar is still in one red bar while the satellites status are locked and navigation works normally (ready to navigate).
