    BlackWolf,

I knew that. My suspition was, if importing waypoints work and exporting waypoints and tracks work, then it seams that simply some link in the
Android APK modification or some link in libgraminos.so or something similar is missing or incorrectly configured.
Question: Has anybody else tried to import routes in any Garmin Android version (v149 , v212 or v214) or nobody need that !???

    Catymag,

the TRIP format in StreetPilot for Android is binary file, probably created ONLY in the APK itself. It seams that Garmin is constantly
changing something so it can not be exchangeable with other devices or software.
This means I can not create TRIP file, let say in BaseCamp and then copy it to the Phone.

The workaround that i figured out until now, is that I brake the route in BaseCamp, ITN converter or similar in waypoints,
and then copy those to SP. Then I manualy create a trip by choosing one waypoint after another. Here is the trick to
name waypoints numerically as the route goes, so when manually picking them to avoid any confusion which point is which (e.g. point1 , point2 ...)
Here is large pain if lot's of waypoints exist (e.g. for me 100+)

For me, here is additional headache, that I create the route (waypoints actually) in ITN converter as it is simple to use and quick,
then I import the CSV file in Excel to rename the waypoint names, afterwards when I save that Excel file in CSV again I use Notepad2 text editor to correct
the ";" character to correct "," character (Excel 2003 export does not do it right), then again import it in ITN to create the GPX file and then as last
point I use Mapsource or BaseCamp to send those waypoints to the phone. Agggggrrrrhhhh !!
Here to note, BaseCamp does see my SG3 JB411 properly and I can copy files to the phone directly, but as I said the import (considering routes)
in the SP itself does not work.

One other thing that does goes, is that I can see where manually created routes are saved (\.system\Trips\123456.TRIP) and I can back them up
    and return them later on.

So again have you some additional ideas! Yes it sounds funny, but I'm fighting to solve the issue.

    Regards.

    @ Banelinde

SP 1.49 on my Samsung SII (external sd) cannot import routes, no matter what I do.
Even if I copy trip files from my 3490, SP cannot read them.
Because SP can create trip files and write them in the correct path-folder, I believe that the problem is that SP does NOT support route import from Mapsource or Basecamp.
The same thing was happening with 3760/3790 devices for a long long time before Garmin decided to listen to our complaints and include this feature in a firmware update.
In 37xx,3490,3590 and other current Nuvis, when you send a .gpx file that contains route data, Nuvi reads this .gpx and using its software, transforms that .gpx route data and creates a .trip file in Trips folder.
I don't think that SP's software has the same capability to create a .trip file out of .gpx data (yet I hope).
(I 've bought my 3760 in August 2010 and waited until October 2011 for "Added the ability to import .GPX route files for use in Trip Planner" to be included in 4.50 firmware update).

This is what I do with SP and routes with Via Points.
I use Mapsource to create a route.
I go Edit > Preferences > Waypoint Categories and I create a Category named Route One for example.
I create my route using Via Points and rename them as 001_xxx, 002_xxx, 003_xxx..... so I can keep the order of the Points in SP (as you do too).
At the Category field I check Route One for every Point.
I save the file as .gpx and copy it on my phone and import it in SP
Now in Favorites I have a new Category, Route One with all my Via Points inside, so I don't have to loose time searching among hundreds of irrelevant Favorites.

    Hi all,

Can I check do you really need to have a rooted OS to run SP 2.14 ?

Is there any version of SP that can run on a non-rooted 4.0.3 phone ?

    Thanks.

Hello h530251. You cannot change permissions and place necessary files wherever they are needed unless the phone is rooted and using a root file manager like ES File Explorer, for example. StreetPilot application (apk) installs OK, but being a ported application needs customization in order to run on your phone. Cheers.

Default ANDROID Garmin StreetPilot Running On Samsung Note

So, just out of curiosity, has anybody here ever ttried contacting Garmin to see if they will ever offer an "official" Street Pilot OnBoard For Android in other markets? I guess since it has happened yet, maybe it never will. I seem to recall that they may have had a no compete clause with ASUS a couple of years ago, but that must have expired by now. I can only assume that they feel like there is little profit to be made with this as a result of free Google Maps, etc.
