Did anyone succeed in using traffic function?
Do you have 2.01 1024x600?
Did anyone succeed in using traffic function?
i am so sorry for the delay but i exceeded my internet bandwidth
anyway thanks black wolf for replying but i think its not from the garmin program ... i think its the huge resolution ( 1280x800 on dual core ...... well it sucks )
i used this file instead of the 800x480 for my galaxy note from post n2 : ( external_sd )
lib file is also from post n2
i tried two firmwares on this device so far :
stock samsung : United Arab Emirates 2012 June 4.0.3 N7000JPLPD N7000OJPLP7 , i tried cf-root , and hydracore v7 kernels with it
touch wiz based : Sweet Rom V5 4.0.4 xxlrk and i tried cf-root kernel 5.6 , hydracore v5.4 and v7 (tried std and o/c ) , and finally speedmod kernel k3-15
And YES i am rooted for sure
so my current rom is sweet rom 4.0.4 + speedmod kernel k3-15
about installation method :
i copied the garmin folder from my s2 to the external sd on note
and then installed garmin sp 1.49 ( streetpilot_a68.apk )
then overwrite the libgarminos.co and the lib file and changed permissions to rw-r--r-- on both files in data\data\com.garmin.......
then copied the lib file one more time to system\lib and checked the permission as before ,
then copied text files to data\data\com.garmin.......\system\text for the multi ( including arabic ) language support
( i downloaded the missing files from webupdater with the xml file on usb so every file is good )
i installed garmin time zone map v11 , world basemap Vx.x ( i dont remember , was the latest ) , north africa and middle east map 2d , north africa and middle east 3d , jcv .... all file for 3d are there too and working ( all placed on \sdcard\external_sd\garmin\system .... almost 650mb worth of maps )
all what i am thinking of is that the device has 1 gb of ram and i think its not enough !!! ( 813 mb usable with speedmod k3-15 and when i open garmin it jumps from 600mb to 725+ mb after map is loaded )
because sometimes when i explore the map it sometimes let black blocks instead of the map ,,, also first usage after reboot it builds the map block by block !! it needs around 30 seconds to finish loading the map when i am on the map ( only the further roads , closer roads always appear on time )
also earth ellipsoid effect ( curving ) takes time to build ( furthest )
i know you would tell me your memory card is slow but on the contrary its faster ( 15mb+ read , 4mb+ write , class 4 ) than my internal ( 12mb read , 10mb write )
and about v2.01 i am sorry it was a TYPO so no harm done ....
I was just annoyed by its lag on my gt-n7000 compared to gt-i9100 thats it !!
any news for ***** on streetpilot 2.12 ? now that android 4.2.1 is coming on many phones i guess they will release even newer version. actually it all depends on how long asus padfone will be upgraded with new android version so does streetpilot. And then ***** and so on. Till asus stops upgrading android version. Then its all over! (or you have to downgrade just to b able to install streetpilot) And in case you dont know, garmin decided not to release it for all android phones (From world mobile congress barcelona 2013) probably because of navigon!
i am using s3 and 4.1.2 (for the time being) and i am dying to try streetpilot! dont want to downgrade just for it though
NAVIGON is not the cause but the NOKIA
If anyone discovers some GOOD custom rom based on 4.1.2 or 4.2 for galaxy s3 which makes Streetpilot work, please tell me/us
JB 4.1.1. can use.
1. Garmin SP Android - dumped from Asus Padfones, not originally developed for all devices, so you can't expect some optimized gps app for other android phones, if app was developed for 2 Asus Padfones, all other releases - modified for other phones, not work well on all android devices, like no support for some chipsets, cpus, vgas, etc. , same applies for using phone's resources = no optimization.
2. You have problem with optimization resources on your phone, 600MB used RAM at runing Garmin SP isn't too much, on my SGS2 before runing Garmin SP i have only 300-400 MB used RAM, so you have to turn off some unecessary startup services, apps, etc. to get more free RAM, Garmin SP 1.49 or 2.01 doesn't load too much RAM 40-50 MB, other gps apps load same, try iGO Primo on your phone and you'll see same, and there isn't problem with 1280x800 resolution, DC CPU+1GB RAM is more than enough to serve gps app on 1280x800 resolution, iGO Primo works ok with on 1280x800 with same cpu and ram! So there can be more factors like i told above, optimize your phone's resources, and then try it, or try another libgarminos.so
3. Comparation of some unofficial release, not full adapted for all devices, isn't too much useful, cause we can't compare something which isn't oficially supported for all devices, and to say is there problem of app or devices, but in most cases, problem is for sure with this modified, not official release, dumped from Asus Padfones...
