Seems like the new version of /system/lib/hw/gps.exynos4.so on my s3 is the culprit for the non working gps in 4.1.2 and streetpilot like many gps apps is not compatible with it. I've tried replacing it with older versions but it kills the GPS.

For people who loose settings on JB, try to do next, set rwxr_xr_x permissions for Garminos.so , and then run Garmin, exit it, then run again to see are settings saved or you have to set them again...

YEEEEES!! I have it running on my S3 on 4.1.1 with sound AND working GPS!!! I just had to find the right version of CyanogenMod 10, which is the last version before the updated /system/lib/hw/gps.exynos4.so was introduced.

The ROM isn't good enough as a daily driver but now that I have Garmin working on JB it means I can dual boot with SiyahKernel and the latest Omega ROM and have the best of both worlds until the PadFone 2 gets the JB update that will hopefully work with the updated library..either that or Garmin releases in the Appstore and I will buy it in a second

Awesome! I guess this won't work on a stock unbranded 4.1.1 rom for my galaxy s3, right? ... I guess I'll just have to wait.

Just being curious: you said it works PERFECTLY. Does it work smooth? I mean, when I had it working on ICS and I wanted to navigate through the maps by sliding my finger through the screen it lagged horribly, like, it worked at 5 frames per second or so.

Nope...I've tried many different roms and the one above is the only one I've managed to get it working on. Every Samsung based rom I've tried hasn't worked (Omega, Wanam, etc), except 4.0.8 ICS based roms that are modified with Cyanogenmod files to get the sound working.

And yes, it's laggy, but I guess that's because it's not really meant to run on the S3's hardware.

But I can now dual boot with a stripped down CM10 with a working Garmin and a fully functioned Omega rom with all the bells and whistles, which suits me fine for the time being.

Edit's: I think I have an idea how to get GPS going on CM10 4.1.2+. I missed a couple of GPS files before. I'm going to try copying the 4.1.1 GPS files from cm-10-20120921-UNOFFICIAL-i9300-V59.zip above into the latest CM10 nightly 4.1.2 tomorrow. I'm tired and hungry. These are the files if anyone wants to try:

    +---system
    | |
    | |
    | +---bin
    | | gps.cer
    | | gpsd
    | |
    | +---etc
    | | gps.conf
    | | gps.xml
    | |
    | \---lib
    | \---hw
    | gps.exynos4.so

Besides being able to integrate the libgarminos.so file into the apk of Garmin StrretPilot 1.49 has there been any other improvements on the 1.49 apk of StreetPilot or have the only improvements come from the libgarminos.so file and being able to tell it where to install as in External SD Card etc.
There doesnt seem to be any other improvements on the apk and none of the libgarminos.so are working for me so it seems that until a better apk of StreetPilot comes out nothing else will work.
Any idea when a better apk will come out?

Does anybody have HTC HD2 rooted with ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA ????

Yesterday I installed NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.8 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] succesfully!

I choosed NAND with DataOnEXT, so I have now 4G internal memory and 26G external memory!

My problem is that instead of version v2.7, now, I cannot copy any file in folder /system, so I cannot copy libgmxt.so to /system/lib/

Why is that? Is any other path, I can do that?
