    2. Install and DON'T run
    3. Copy libgmxt.so to /system/lib/ and change it's permissions to rw-r--r--
    4. Copy libgarminos.so (800x480) that Black Wolf, to /data/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/lib/ ..... with HEX Editor path: /sdcard/Garmin/
    5. Restart
    6. Start application

    ???? because I have made so many things last 3 days....
    Do this procedure you described except the 4th action, skip it. (its not necessary since it is already integrated to the APK, so this version copies to that folder in the first place (with install))

    this might be a silly question but if you were building the apk why not put the proper libgmxt.so in it so that step could be skipped also?
    i have never re-built an apk so i have no idea the limitations.

    Thank you for your advice! I am very-very new at the world of Android (Nokia user for 10 years hahahaha) and my phone "*******" a friend of mine..... I have 16GB SD and we made 2nd partition 2G to expand internal memory of the phone, so use "Link2SD" to install/move application at that partition. Only this I can tell you, and that when i see memory with ES Explorer is:

    - sdcard/ {with files of 14GB SD memory}
    - mnt/sdcard/ {with files of 14GB SD memory (2nd time.... same files, like "mirrored" every file i change, changing at both paths)}
    - sd-ext/ {empty}
    - data/sdext2/ {with some folders inside}

    I don't know 2nd partition where is exactly, but nevertheless, I don't want to install Garmin at 2G extSD because don't suit map files....

    Sorry if all that is offtopic, maybe we must continue with pm, maybe mods tell as what to do

    Hello people. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 with ICS 4.0.4 and I tried to install Garmin Streetpilot from Mobilism and it worked. I used the 1280x720 lib (the libgarminos_1280x720_external_sd_OK.so that I renamed to libgarminos.so) that they posted there.
    The thing is that, it recognised the maps and everything, but the screen wasn't positioned ok (and in the main garmin screen, I had the settings, apps and the other icon missing so I couldn't configure much). Then, I decided to try with another libgarminos.so, so I installed the libgarminos_full2.so posted in this forum (in the 1st page). It solved the screen problem; it looks nice and have all the icons, BUT it won't recognise the maps.

    So basicly I'm stucked between a version that doesn't display correctly, and another one that doesn't recognise the maps. I was wondering if someone could make a new libgarminos combining the good things from each file? It would be awesome.

    Also, I don't know if it's just me but... how does the app work for you guys in general? Because on my S3 it's like VERY laggy, not smooth at all (when navigating through menus and through maps). I don't know if it's MY problem or if it is from the app itself.

    Thank you!!!

    Wrong resolution..... exactly like the first apk lollypop000 that gave at post #84

    And AGAIN I cannot change resolution, because program writes itself's libgarminos.so I saw that again with time of created/modified file (I kept that)

    If you guys are having the file overwritten on every boot, then there is a good possibility that you have a script running on boot that restores the file. Case in point is my Dell Streak. Stock versions of the Streak have a script titled "install-recovery.sh" in the system. Install a custom recovery on an otherwise stock Streak and reboot? The script would restore the stock recovery from a hidden partition. The solution was easy: delete "install-recovery.sh".

    Completely decompiling the APK and looking at its innards may reveal a similar script.

    I have solved my problem: I used a hex editor to modify the libgarminos_full2.so as the tutorial of the first page showed (I modified it in order to recognize /sdcard/external_sd/Garmin as the maps folder), and now it recognizes the maps AND also adjusts nicely to my galaxy s3 i9300 screen. I have uploaded it here, so that nobody else who has a galaxy s3 i9300 has to do that again (just use this file and it'll be alright) :

    However, I have no sound (no voices or anything). Have I done something wrong or it's the app's fault?. And I've already asked this but, does this streetpilot garmin app work smoothly on your devices? Mine works fine and everything but looks like it goes at 5 frames per second or something

    this is what i did to solve save preferences problem.
    after locked position, do a routing or simulation then your settings will be saved.

    I tried to do that, but it is not possible.
    Actually the file itself is already in the APK, and is copied to /data/data/com.garmin..../lib/, but it is not possible to set APK to copy it to /system/lib also.
    If anyone knows a way to workaround it in any way, well, i'm open to new suggestions.
