    Thanks
It is part of the Urban Guidance in-app feature; unless you have a legit version of the Garmin app, it will not be possible to purchase it from the Extras menu.

New Pedestrian and Public Transportation Features

With Urban Guidance users are able to integrate public transportation into their route, complete with detailed itineraries of transit stops. The new feature considers trains, trams, busses and water taxis when calculating pedestrian routes. Users will be guided to a transit stop by foot and be able to look up detailed information on what line to take and where to get off.
If somehow you can get it to work, it covers only the following European cities (if you're running Garmin Europe or similar):

    Austria: Vienna
    Belgium: Antwerp, Brussels
    Czech Republic: Prague
    Denmark: Copenhagen
    Estonia: Tallinn
    Finland: Helsinki
France: Bordeaux, French Riviera, Nantes, Paris, Rennes, Strasbourg
Germany: Berlin, Cologne, Dresden, Essen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg
    Greece: Athens
    Hungary: Budapest
Italy: Florence, Milan, Naples, Rome, Turin, Venice
    Latvia: Riga
    Lithuania: Vilnius
    Luxembourg: Luxembourg City
    Netherlands: Amsterdam, Rotterdam
    Norway: Oslo
    Poland: Gdańsk, Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw
    Portugal: Lisbon, Porto
    Slovakia: Bratislava
    Spain: Barcelona, Madrid, Seville
    Sweden: Gothenburg, Stockholm
    Switzerland: Bern, Geneva, Zurich
    Turkey: Istanbul
    Ukraine: Kiev
Great Britain (UK): Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester

...and only in the following North American cities (if you're running Garmin North America or similar):

    Canada: Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver
    Mexico: Mexico City
USA: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Bay Area (San Francisco/Berkeley/Oakland), Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Detroit, Honolulu, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Paul, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Antonio, San Diego, Seattle, Washington D.C.

In other words--if your destination does not include any of the above cities, Urban Guidance will not function at all.

Thanks catymag--not sure if/when I'll have a chance to see if they'll actually work on an iPhone since I don't know when I'll next be in any of those areas covered by CityXplorer--LOL!

However, I have a thought...or more honestly, a request: can someone who legitimately purchased the Urban Guidance in-app option on their iPhone and got it to work legit wouldn't mind please uploading the following files:

    com.garmin.onboard.***.plist
    Info.plist
    settings_defaults.plist
    settings_general.plist
    settings_navigation.plist
    settings_navigation_no_multimodal.plist
    settings_premium_services.plist
    TargetConfig.plist

I have a sneaking suspicion that purchase of the Urban Guidance option updates one or more of the above plist files, and I'm curious to see if enabling it may be as simple as adding a few lines of code into any of these files.

    Thanks!

I bought 2.4.1 and installed it on a JB iPhone.
I can't find a way to properly add custom maps.
I was only able to replace the basemap with a custom unlocked map. It shows addresses and pois but is not routable.
For now I went back to 2.2 with custom plists from tonytone at post #436

Please also be aware that it is possible to view Traffic Cameras--not to be confused with Safety Cameras (i.e., speed/red-light cameras)--with the (traffic) hack enabled; from the Garmin main menu go into Traffic -> myCameras -> Add Camera -> Select a Road; note that this assumes that the (desired) traffic cameras are registered in Garmin's database--i.e., if Garmin doesn't know about it, you won't be able to add it.

Also--any updates to the Google Local Search tutorial will be done in the following thread from this point forward so please refer to it instead:

Great work tonytone ... I have everything working thanks to your tutorials.

One question - I've used the Garmin USA2.2 ipa and would like to change the default Speed Signs from US block rectangle to Euro/Australia red circles.
I've tried changing the .png files but it still comes up with Speed 60 ... I've read that Nuvi owners have to do a hard reset and enter "locale", but of course , that won't work on an iphone!
Is there a .plist file I need to edit?

    Many thanks again

    <string>North America</string>
