I'm having the same problem with Contact searches freezing and/or crashing the app and street address searches freezing or taking a long time to return results on 2.2. I think I'll try removing the SID file then adding it back to see if that helps things. The weird though is that when I installed 2.2 on my iPhone the very first time, Contact and street name searches worked fine...but after I mucked around for naught trying to figure out why 2.3 wouldn't work and trying to find some creative way to get 2.3 to work and subsequently reinstalling 2.2 back onto my phone, that's when my problems began...ugh!!!!!

Update--I wonder if it's an issue with the built-in SQL db function; when I do an address search via Contacts, it takes a long time but it does eventually find an address match against what's given in the Contacts record. Same deal when doing a straight-up address search by street name--sometimes it comes back quick, other times it takes a bit longer.

settings_default.plist--this includes resetting the GPS Log option to default, and also contains the Enable 3D Building View setting that is required in Garmin 2.2 (and above?) or else you'll get the nastygram about not being able to view 3D buildings even though you have a valid gmap3d.img file installed:

settings_general.plist--contains toggle for GPS Simulator and GPS Log Record options:

settings_navigation_no_multimodal.plist--I discovered that for whatever reason the Garmin iPhone app Navigation menu settings are actually controlled by this file; it contains settings for Optimize Route For, separate settings for Pedestrian Mode, and Transit Type:

TargetConfig.plist--contains settings to enable/disable where Lane Assist arrows are displayed, full-screen display of Junction View images in landscape mode, and toggle to select maps if more than one map is installed:

Note--the plist code for the menu settings for GPS Simulator, GPS Log Record, and Reset MyLocations/Trips Database can actually be found in the settings_debug_no_gcs.plist file; I'm not sure how this file is supposed to be accessed by the Garmin app but as others have discovered, simply pulling these settings from the no_gcs plist file and sticking them into the settings_general.plist file causes these settings to actually appear in the Settings -> General menu.

Note #2--I could never get the Hide Coordinate setting (found in settings_general.plist) to display in Settings -> General; any idea on how to get this to work?

Note #3--there may be other settings not shown in my plist files that I chose to either not include (because I have no practical need for them) or that I'm simply not (yet) aware of; all I can say is that these plist files work correctly with my Garmin 2.2 for iPhone app, other than the issue with the Hide Coordinate setting...so I make no promises or guarantees that any of my plist files will work with your Garmin iPhone app.
Thanks, I did all this on v 2.2 and everything works but I have 2 questions: how do I get the app to display the right time? I am on the east coast, and if it's 12:15 it displays 10:15... and why 3d buildings are not showing? Do I have to set different permissions? I have the 2013.40 unlocked gmapprom, gmap3d and JCV... thanks. also the weather icon of the destination does nothing as you stated before, and all the screens in mine look just as all the screenshots you posted. the only one where it say vehicle icon, I don't get to switch to pedestrian but I do get the shoes

any help with the time and 3d buildings would be appreciated.

    Thanks
