    This hint helped me a lot, thank you.
    Now GMPC is visable in MS.
    I created a gmapsupp.img on harddisk (c:\),renamed it to gmapprom.img and then moved it to the GMPC folder.

    I just checked in 5.00.70 but it seems that Garmin has removed the limitation itself. However if you still can't use your 60CSx with that, I hope you can do hexedit because you have to modifiy 2 bytes:
    002E7222: 75 --> 90
    002E7223: 7C --> 90
    If you can't do hexedit let me know I'll post a special version again.
    I am also having this problem. I am unsure what a hexedit is...tried googling this but am still unsure. Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Thanks, you have no idea how long I have been looking for this information.

    Is there a way to completely remove the older version? Because I am stuck with a software ID when I click on trail during installation.
    The software ID can not be used for unlocking map. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciate, I would want to reinstall windows for this.

    Thanks again.

    Hi eveyone.

    I see that this is a rather outdated SW but I need to use a PC-based navigation solution in my 6-wheel, military Volvo Tgb13.

    I have installed (and activated) the "Garmin Mobile PC" and loaded both a basemap and the "CN Europe 2012.10" (Which is claimed to be unlocked).

    Everything looks fine until I try to enter an address. When I do that the following message comes:

    "Detailed maps are required to use this feature...."

    What is going on here? These maps shows up and street names is clearly visible when browsing maps. This map set should be enabled for street routing, right?

    Is it anything I have missed here?

    (I did generate an un-lock code using the JMKG and the FID:2419 for the map set, even if these maps should be un-locked...)

    The map .IMG files I have placed in the default program directory (C:\GarminMobilePC\).
    I also tried to rename the "GMAPSUPP.IMG" file to "gmapprom.img" without any success.

    Anyone who have an idea of what's going on and can help me?

    Best regards

    Mike

    From where did you download that .img ? If it's more than 2 gb MPC wont see it- If it's less than 2 gb must see how it has been generated, if it comes from a Gmaptool generated Mapsource version it wont have search enabled
    It if the map is unlocked it doesnt need an . unl
