Dear user, good morning.
I've experimenting problems with TMC on mio Mio 6970. After having made all the settings (TMC protocol setting to 1, setting tmc on sys, and so on), my TMC is not working at all.
I've tryed the program TMC.exe for testing, but I receive "No reply from module".
Anyone can help me? Thanks a lot.

I have two Magellan (MIO family) with TMC receivers, and I use TMC by FM radio stations. I don't use http TMC.
My Primo does not have TMC related dll's
My sys.txt has only this:
[tmc]
auto_band_search_up="1"
auto_tuning="1"
baud=57600
internal_tmc_name="GNSPORT"
last_known_tmc_station="925"
port="COM,1"
saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_GNSPORT"
saved_config_port="1"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_last_frequency="925"
saved_last_tuning_mode="1"
show_all_provider_list="1"
source="GNSPORT"
tuner_alg_search_force_on="1"
tuner_alg_search_timeout=10000
tuneralg_rds_packet_timeout=6000
The command line below does not exist on my sys.txt:
[tmc-http]
Note: 92.5 is the TMC FM radio frequency in my city.
Note 2: In my Magellans, I needed to call the TMC receiver before runing the navigator. I used a program named Morstcript for this.
Note 3: My Magellan use WinCE 6
Note 4: You need to activate TMC on Primo:
good luck!

"No reply from module" it means that the device probably has no TMC receiver.
Do you use an unlock ?
Does your unlock write registry HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC\Protocol to 1 ?
Try [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] unlock.
Plug the original cable from the battery supply ( which containing TMC antenna )
Run MioAutoRun\Apps\TMC\TMC Test Receptor.exe .
If you manually entered an FM frequency you should receive station name (by RDS), as you see above.
If everything is ok, you can test TMC on primo.
Try to use Dimka or Gurjon skin.
Or use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ux-utility.

There is same model with and without TMC hardware. It's possible that his piece is missing it.
And of course, he need an antenna... So, let's first try unlock.
Dear friends,
by the first I thank you all for the help.
I share with you all what happened. By the first, I use an unlock, and I'm sure to have SW_TMC\protocol set to 1.
arslankayna's solution: I used the dll, license and sys modification, but disappeared the traffic icons and menu. May be the "avanteq" tmc_name or the port are not suitable for mio 6970LM?
luiscarlosrio's solution. Ok, I made all, but still not working. I also tried to change baud from 57600 to 14400.
costas3850's solution. Ok, I've just tried also this unlock, same problem. I've also tryed the fix_tmc utility and also the dimka skin, setting manually to 87.5, but nothing.
But now I tell something about TMC scan that my be could help to know about my problem.
About TMC scan, I've noticed this:
If I put SW_Protocol=0:
- the original mio software detects the TMC antenna and works (giving informations)
- the iGO TMC options disappear
- the TMC_Scan crashes when I search for frequencies (it blocks itself)
If I put SW_Protocol=1:
- the original mio software does NOT detects the TMC antenna and does not works (error=need an antenna)
- the iGO TMC icons appears but not works.
- the TMC_Scan tell me "no reply from modules" when I search for frequencies
So, giving that the SW_TMC\protocol is set to 1, the .dll and licences are present, iGO sees the antenna, what other I have to do for the TMC to work? Thanks to all!

In my Magellan, the TMC worked in the original navigator, but it did work in iGo Primo.
It was necessary to edit the WinCe registry, in order to call the TMC receiver driver.
I made this using the program Mortscript.exe
In Magellan, if you insert a SD card with a file named iboot.exe, it will be runned automatically.
Then, I renamed Mortscript.exe to iboot.exe.
I used the script:
Notify = RegRead("HKLM", "Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC", "Protocol" )
Notify = RegRead("HKLM", "Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC", "RadioEnable" )
If ( Notify = 1)
Run "\SDMMC\Menu\Menu.exe"
EndIf
If ( Notify = 0)
RegWriteDWord HKLM, Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC, Protocol, 1
RegWriteDWord HKLM, Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC, RadioEnable, 1
Sleep (1)
Reset
EndIf
Menu.exe is the menu I use to call Primo. You may substitute Menu.exe for Primo.exe, to call Primo directly
Note: sorry for my poor english.
Good Luck!
On Mio S605
- if I put If I put SW_Protocol=0 TMC_scan.exe it's stuck
- if I put If I put SW_Protocol=1 TMC_scan.exe show RDS info ( FM Station name )
On Mio MOOV500 (no TMC receiver)
- TMC_scan.exe give me "No reply from module"
