    to unlock the IMG files
Connect your unit as a removable drive again and open (or create with notepad if you dont have it already in your Garmin folder) the SW.UNL file in Notepad. Paste the CARD ID unlock code in. Resave the file. If you are using locked maps, open( or create) GMAPSUPP.UNL with Notepad and paste in the map unlock code. You should now have unlocked software .(caution! no txt ext )
Now we have this tool to create your SW.UNL and GMAPSUPP.UNL

    Awesome Caty, you're the best...

I'll try to install it on my N95-1 / GarminMobileXt 50.40, and will post the results as soon as i tested it.

And for my brazilian friends, here some usefull links to use with:

Done! I've installed the new version (5.00.50) on my n95-1 and the map, it works just fine, quite simple...

Used this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to unlock both gps and map using the map id (404).

    Cya!!!

forget it, i got it =)

I'm having the same problem that some other guys in this post are having.
I downloaded the IMG file and put it in the SD card with the UNL file with a code that I got using the 1.5 Unlocker, but still I get the "can't unlock maps" error. I'm sure that I'm not using a file with the .txt extension and that I did everything correctly.. can anyone suggest anything else for me to try?

I have a nüvi 760, by the way.
