I tried the English file but the map is not being recognized by my in car Kenwood KNA-G430TH, I have a map even without the SD card installed but there are NO POI's ;Please advise if I need the unlock code as well????
I have the original Kenwood Garmin software but when I had it installed for B30.000.00 I was told it had both Thai and English, the only English functions were the main menus and when I asked about that I was told that i needed to pay another B7000 to get the POI's to display in English

These are the thailand version 8.0 maps not the 8.1 version.

It is indeed Version 8.0, only with the copyright year 2008 instead of 2007. It works well.

    Default Garmin Maps

Hi, i'm a new member so please be patient with me. lol. I have downloaded garmin XT for europe and installed it on my N95 and it's all working great. I'm spending a month in thailand soon and was going to download some thailand maps. Is it possible to just add the thai map to my SD card so that i can view europe and thailand. Or do i have to just use one map or the other, i.e just Thailand, or just Europe ? Or can i merge them together in anyway ? Any help would be great thanks. craig

    Graig,

All Garmin detailed maps have the name GMAPSUPP.IMG

So, if you have several maps (i.e. Europe and Thailand) you can only use one of them with that name. You could upload more than one map to your SD card but you have to change the file names.

With the help of for example X-Plore you could do that on your device without the use of a PC. When you are in Thailand, you just change thailand.im$ in gmapsupp.img and when you are in europe you change europ.im& in gmapsupp.img

I assume you have the Garmin Base Map to have an overview of the world (gmapbmap.img).

    Good luck
