    Great catch and thanks to generous Friend!

    Seems to be very up-to-date with new roads even compared to my "home made" map [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] made from the newly released data from the "Lantmäteriet" at the turn of the year.

    It has been reported that road barriers are missing in the map in the northen part of the country but that is not a problem for me.
    Now the tedious work with TYPing remains to make the maps readable with acceptable contrast and better look.
    Why does Garmin always use such hopeless colours in the maps? Remains to see if it is possible to have pure white (255,255,255) in the map, something that is not possible in FriPro v4 afaik.

    You are right Smulan, the Swedish map colors are horrible, as always. They could learn a lot from the French IGN maps.
    Having a white background is always an important first step to make a map much better both in Basecamp/Mapsource as on a GPS. You can make the background of most NT maps white by adding this polygon with TYPViewer:

    [_polygon]
    Type=0x10d01
    ;GRMN_TYPE: Map Bounds/DATA_BOUNDS(NT)/Bounds of map after creation/NT
    ExtendedLabels=N
    Xpm="0 0 1 0"
    "1 c #FFFFFF"
    [end]

    Set the DrawOrder to 1.

    Since the Swedish Friluftskartan has the entire country filled with coloured polygons you still have to choose some of them to be white or transparent.
    The most obvious polygons to make white are 0x10c07 (open land area) and 0x10f08 (arable land).

    I don't think I have to tell you more at this point since you are a map-creator yourself ;-)

    Thanks for the tip. I will try that when starting the job. Thankfully the TypViewer can be active with two instances so I can have the TYP file from the FriPro v4 in one instance to see which hex is optimal for getting the best colour for my gps models and use cut and paste to the new file.

    Hi,

    .db file is only 1346 Ko. I opened it with SQLite DataBase Browser and there are only six named trails !

    Is it normal given that previous .db files on v4 (which was splitted in 4 maps) were far heavier for each map ?

    When first introduced Active Routing seemed a great invention but after 3 years and many Topo PRO maps further it's sad to see that many maps only contain a few Trails and many of them still are incomplete. A good example is the new Topo España v6, many GR Trails are present now but even the most famous ones like the GR7 (Andorra to Tarifa) and the GR10 (Valencia to Lisbon) are present for only ~30%.

    I don't use the db files anymore and switched to someting much better: OSM transparent Trailmaps.
    These maps are updated regularly and the amount of trails is excellent in many countries now.
    You can download the maps for a single country but also for entire Europe (only 57MB).
    The 'Wanderwege-Layer' zip files contain the img file and a Windows installation file for use in Mapsource/Basecamp as well.

    Sent the V5 map file to my Oregon 600. It's there, working, but it blanks out my V4 maps. (Just like V4 once made to V3). V4 and V5 img files are on my SD card, but V4 is no longer present on the list of maps in GPSr.
    Somebody who knows a workaround?

    Exactly the same for France topo Maps : when both Topo France v3 and v4 are on GPS, only topo v4 is displayed.

    Connect the GPS to your PC with the SD-card inserted and do a check with JaVaWa Device Manager.
    This utility can find and repair many map problems.
