I'm trying to install it on a Garmin edge 1000 without success. I get a message telling map is locked. Any ideas? I can install it on mapsource, but not on the device.

From the discussion prior to your post, conclusion can be made that the map file is only partially unlocked due to the suspected use of an old unlocker and (as is!) will not work on a device with MSV (Map Signature Verification), like Edge 1000. See info in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If I am not mistaken, the map will work on Edge 1000 if (re)unlocked with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

I assume you mean BaseCamp, not MapSource. BaseCamp can see locked map files.

    Hi smokefree

I have used gimgunlock but not solved the problem. I can see the map on both Mapsourse and Basecamp.

I have a GPSmap 64s with a same type of map protection as the Edge 1000:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
The original map from post #1 is not accepted by the GPSmap 64s:

    KYghZOu

When (re)unlocking the img map file with gimgunlock-0.03+MapSigPatch, it is accepted by the GPSmap 64s:

    wq7cSSd

You must be doing something different. Try again.

Map does not need to be (re)unlocked when using with MSV patched GPSMap 64s.

The map will be uploaded locked and signed version.
Someone can also upload the unlocked version, and install Mapsource?

I know. It's either patching the device or (re)unlocking the map. The latter is done in a split second and therefore had my preference.
Same thought of course applies to the Edge 1000.

Yes, but I use NTU maps (CN Europe) with my 64s and gimgunlockMapSigPatch is ineffective on NTU maps, so I had to patch my device.

Obviously, if your scope is to use unlocked NTU maps, patching the FW is the way to go.

    ok all

Since it was faulty on img files that I post the first time I've updated my post 1 with a real original img file that is locked and signed
