Think Sensis map is more upto date, looking at new estates and roads in my area Here maps are 2 yrs behind at least.
Mind you it took till the last Senis Map to actually show the new roads.

    Cheers Goose

G'day Goose. It depends on where you check. In my neck of the woods Sensis only has two street numbers in the entire semi-rural street, HERE has them all. The road is over 60 years old, it was originally gravel but its been bitumen for over 25 yrs and every single block was built on by then. My son is in a 2 y.o. estate nearby, Sensis doesn't know it exists but HERE has not only the made streets but even the proposed ones in the new section under development so go figure. Plenty of examples the other way around too and frankly it's not a winnable argument as to which is better for 'up-to-date-ness' because in that way both are equally bad but differently imho. Sensis generally seems to have better map POIs however. Both face the same basic problems in updating, firstly they have to be aware of the changed roads and new ones. Then they have to incorporate the new info and combine with the existing data, that's a job for the map makers. Then the updated data is supplied to the client, in this case Garmin who then have to put the map data into their format, in Garmin's case PC Install data and original image. Two years from whoa to go ain't unreasonable for that i reckon.

Haha, good on ya! Pick on the old slow guy kiddies 'cos he's an easy target. Sorry, forgot about that undertaking and yes G, you were right. They've nobbled MapUpdater from working with GarminExpress compatible devices. Hooked up a recently unbricked 2797LM AU with an old map on it. MU refuses to do anything other than offer to reinstall the currently loaded 2014.20 map. GE is happily updating it to 2017.10 right now.

I reckon they won't can MU for a while though, too many old 'region-only' devices still working with LM subscriptions. They aren't compatible with GE and i doubt Garmin will go to the trouble of making changes to GE to accommodate them. What's other opinions on that?

    Hi Neil,
Yeah I always use to use nt but since it became "Here" atleast in SA the actual road updates are not to crash, If its a major road eg express way they are on top of it but as to new area's once they where listing roads not even laid, now they dont bother, senis is usually out in road speed limits in the burbs. I think both suppliers are just to lazy to check with coucils etc for road changes and adition of new roads and speed limits, they want others to do the work and tell them.
Anyway enough of my ranting lol in the end it wont change anything...
