For all NA use D3836150A.jcv [it's noted in 1st and 2nd post as being suitable for nuvi 40]. Placement you've stated is correct for microSD.

Back again on the problem I found on the "lite" version (missing parts on the map - post #74), I solved everything splitting the map with gmaptools (using cGpsmapper inside) and re-assembling it again with the resulting install.bat file. It originated a gmapprom.img file that worked (redenominated gmapsupp.img), even though I still don't know how.

Maybe this could be useful to someone else.

No, it won't prove useful in the way you're suggesting at all. That's not solved your 'problem' [you never really had a problem anyway btw] because your re-compiled image file won't have full search function. You've been given the answer by catymag in Post #75 - use the real PC Install [gmap folder] to make the image you want. Your simple 'preview' map install version made the way you've done from an img file is only good for some basic uses on the PC, sorry. why there are no "ASR-" "SID-" and other File for Canada-only-map?

There's no separate ASR for CA-only map [or MX either]. It wouldn't matter if they did because, as with EU mapping, Voice Command can only work fully if the entire regional map is loaded. An exception is only for USA+CA where it will work provided every single mapping tile for USA and CA is loaded. See here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

I don't think Garmin has ever issued smaller regional SID files.

    Thanks for your fast answer!

With other words, i can use all the additional files from "City Navigator North America NT 2017.10" with the Canada-only-map?

Yes, but don't expect Voice Command to work, as you don't use the full NA map or entire USA & CA map.
To avoid clutter, please don't leave any "Thank You" posts but use the Xlosbkb button or the LIKE this post ↑ link instead
