    Hi,

Something I really find stupid for these maps is the fact that raster levels can't be changed into devices : regardless of detail level selected (from most up to least), raster levels are displayed on same zoom levels :

    - 1:250K from 3 miles to 1,2 miles,

    - 1:50K from 0,8 miles to 800 feet,

    1:25K from 500 feet to 20 feet.

Raster level 1:250 K should be better go up to 0,8 miles, because raster level 1:250 K is just readable at zoom 1,2 miles, as 1:50K is unreadable at zoom 0,8 miles.

On the opposite, raster levels are displayed on different zoom levels in BaseCamp following detail level selected (from most to least), but we don't really care about BaseCamp when we are outdoor...............

When I analyse the maps (details-GMapTool) I didn't see any information about levels and zoom in the single GMP-maps after the information about TRE-parameters, like (other Discoverer rastermap):
    levels [16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24], zoom [8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0]
Garmin has forgotten or some other technique is used?

Default Is there a limit to how many of these 5 maps I can get on one SD card?

First, thank you for a wonderful post.

I've been trying to put these five regional images on one SD card. They all physically fit ok on the card but only the first two written are recognised by my Oregon 650. Is this because the total number of map segments exceeds a max figure or because the total file size is too great for the unit to read at once? The order in which they're written to the card really affects what areas are seen - can't think why.

I just did a quick test for you and everything works as it should.
The total amount of map segments is 1070 which is well below the maximum of ~4000.
The five maps all show up in my Oregon 600.
Did you give each of them a different name?
