    Hi,

As the first version did, v2 displays strange broken elevation contour lines :

Do you observe the same issue ?

These kind of misalignments of contourlines can be seen in other Topo maps as well, I've noticed them in the excellent OSM based Freizeitkarte too and spoke with the developers about the issue. Contourlines are generated automatically and are based on DEM data coming from data sources like ASTER (GDEM). The contourlines are split up in tiles and when the generated data is a little bit different between two adjacent tiles it results in 'broken' elevation lines and differences in density.

The maps are included on the page for Topo PRO map, indeed.
But unlike the other PRO maps, the Premium v2 has no "PRO" in the mapname and no description about "Activerouting" in the tab Overview like all other PRO maps...
But thay have a db-file to put in the folder SQL and you have named trails. Although all are hiking trails in limited areas.

    Hi,

I'm getting "valid chart product not found" in basecamp for "TOPO Norway Premium v2 - 1 Sørvest" Does anyone know what that means or how to make it work. The map works fine on my etrex 30 (as do the other maps 2-10).

Also I'm wondering how I could merge the maps to use all of them at once in basecamp. I tried using GMapTool, but I would not show in basecamp at all. Might be because of the first map though.

No problem at this end. I put the unlocked img version of Topo Norway Premium v2 - 1 Sørvest in the Garmin folder on an SD and BaseCamp 4.0.3 recognised it without any hassles. Have you tried downloading the map again? Maybe the file got corrupted.

I tried downloading several times. Finally I just deleted the Garmin folder in AppData and everything just worked!

Is the locked topo files an img file just like the unlocked? I need to install the map via Map installer. The unlocked img file was to big, so I need to select part of the area, so it can fit on low internal memory (with no sd card possibilities).

These maps are available only as *.img files, no proper PC Instal versions are available. You can make a simple preview map with GMAPTool to install on your computer but it will lack search capability so will be not very useful in practice if an img file is re-compiled from PC to fit on your device. You haven't mentioned what device it is, but your profile mentions a Dakota so it's probably a Dakota 10 which only has internal memory of 850MB, therefore your problem is not easily solved if you want to add one of the larger maps.

Default How to see img files in basecamp

An easy fix to see the maps in Basecamp is this: make a fat32 formatted usb memory. Make a Garmin folder in the root of the usb drive. Copy .img files to this folder. You can name the img files anything as long as you keep the .img extension. Start up Basecamp. You can now see the maps in Basecamp. (See attached image)

I had a hope to find newer version than my topo map from 2008. It was a new release in 2010, but it is hard to find.
It looks like Garmin don't bother about how the old topo from 2008 is available a lot of places. Since the 2008 maps is low in details (lacks much information and have few paths ), just outdated.
Since Dakota 10 us without sd card, I am stuck with a to big img file. The maps from 2010 would fit, but ...
