Good evening catymag i am trying to create a Mexico partial map taking the files of the full map.
Uncompress the full map with Gmap Tool and once identified the partial maps that I need
    added them to Gmap Tool:

    23033358.img Corpus Christi Texas
    23033444.img San Luis Potosi
    23033445.img Acapulco
    23033446.img Puebla
    23033447.img Toluca
    23033448.img San Juan del Rio
    23033449.img Guadalajara
    23033450.img Leon Gto
    23033451.img Veracruz
    23033452.img Villahermosa
    23033453.img Merida, Yucatan
    23033454.img Tijuana
    23033455.img Ciudad Juarez
    23033456.img Monterrey
    23033457.img Ciudad de Mexico

    along with the files:

    00003920.MD2
    00003920.TRF
    3920_mdr.img
    I0000F50.TYP

With the JOIN option I create the IMG file and copied the image to the System folder of the GPS.
But when searching for any address or cross streets appears a window that says: "The map data are not available"

I download the map of Mexico of spijun in the 38 post and it works perfectly to find addresses and cross streets.
The same thing happens with your map of Yucatan, Quintana Roo and Chiapas in the 39 post, works perfectly.

But I want to know what I am doing wrong, I don't like just ask, I prefer to do the job and shows what i do.

Could you say what I am doing wrong?
    Thank you very much.

Maps made with Gmaptool don't have address search enabled as stated in tutorial
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
NOTE:Remember this kind of Mapsource installation wont give you search capabilities
From GmapTool Help: "Unfortunately GMapTool is unable to convert a MDR file form mapset into a format acceptable by Mapsource. Do not bind this file to Mapsource, it will not work properly."
If you want a fully functional img in gps, download Map pc installer and make your IMG with Basecamp/Mapinstall.

Have you removed from your PC the simple preview map that you made with GMapTool? Maybe that's what you're now seeing in BaseCamp.

You can use only MapInstall to make an image, either directly or from BaseCamp. You can invoke MapInstall from BaseCamp if you wish, or simply open MapInstall directly. See here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
